And that's today's unnecessary outrage update, folks. And now to Lou for Sports.

MAN THOSE GUYS SELLING A RECORDING OF A GAME THING PEOPLE ARE GOING TO. IT'S ALMOST AS BAD AS THOSE GUYS SELLING RECORDINGS OF GAME THINGS PEOPLE GO TO. Malacite, do you even know what PPV is? |

I agree, Malacite, selling things that people want to buy is an unconscionable practice. There should be a law against it. /sarcasm off Lots of different game companies have conventions, many of which are too far from me to attend. I will say that, though I wouldn't PPV Blizzcon, if the GDC was on PPV I'd buy it. It's cheaper than airline tickets, hotel rooms, restaurants, soveniers, and convention passes. /sarcasm on

For the record, I believe they did the exact same thing last year. They're even offering an in-game pet if you watch it from home.

I see no problem with this. I would love to go to Blizzcon but the tickets sell out within minutes of being put up for sale, so at least getting to see it would be nice. But I'm a pirate, it'll probably be up for download after Blizzcon ends and I can get it for free then.

I know it's funny to be mean on the internet and all but seriously, focus on the positive: We all clicked on this thread knowing what it entailed. After bitching about vaguely-named threads, we never gave him any positive reinforcement for doing a good job. Malacite, I extend my gratitude to you for the concisely-named thread. And no, this isn't sarcasm.

I don't see the problem where, but then again, I also don't see the point of it. As information is the more important thing and its hard to contain it after you have a convention and all. Over here we have some Diabolo III stuff, here's the Starcraft 2 tease section and now lets cut to a bunch of 12 year-0lds playing WoW and accusing each other of "cheating." Because levelling a particular class to max level and beating you in PvP is so totally cheating. |

You mean besides the fact that sites like Joystiq and IGN will be reporting on this for free as they have each and every year? The garbage people will pay for (and no I'm not "outraged" just disappointed in Blizz's new CEO. Remember, this is the same jack ass who said if they can't milk something multiple times over for tonnes of cash, it's not worth doing. While he has a point to an extent, the way he said it came off as a slight against gamers)I'll read up on the info when it's released. Man, and I thought people were silly for still buying magazines like EGM |

I don't really see a problem. Doesn't G4 cover some of the events like Comic Con and E3. Technically not the same thing, but you have to pay to watch the channel since they are now on digital cable.

I heard you can get a new pet for viewing it on PPV. I wonder how that is going to work?
