Back in the day you had to put down a deposit to use em. I remember my mom rented me the Virtual Boy, i think she had to put down a $200-$300 deposit. I think now you probably have to have a credit card on file to be able to rent from blockbuster or most other video stores. I think that was the one and only time I've ever rented anything from Blockbuster that wasn't a video game or a movie.

Only system I've ever sold was my Xbox during last gen, and that was just a clear money need at the time(and I had more PS2 games and used it more often). Unless it's something like selling my DS to buy a DS Lite I'm not a fan of selling consoles unless they totally suck(see; Sega CD)

I still own my original dreamcast, was fun for playing backup games and I actually still have it hooked up at my house even though I'm dorming cause sometimes me and my bro will get in the mood for Marvel vs Capcom 2.

Have a GBA somewhere, Gameboy SP somewhere with no charger, DSLite that I seriously have NOT touched in forever(anyone that can recommend any good games that came out in the last 2 years, appreciate it. That or a good flash card <_<), I had a Genesis SNES and N64 but god knows if they are even in this place anymore, or even this country(although all my N64 games are visible, but I dare not ebay em).

And I wasn't aware you could rent consoles, but if the deposit is 200-300 bucks I'd rather just buy the darn thing.

OMG there are an assload of good games out there for the DS! I'd rattle off some but its 2:30 am and my ass is going to bed. Oh and I only use a flash card to demo games. If I like them, I buy them. If I don't like them, they are deleted. I use EZ Flash V and its very easy to use.

Yea Feba pretty much nailed it, I'm still shelling out 200-300 in cash/credit so for that I could just save abit more and have a permanent console to add to my collection.

I was gonna get a DS when I get my tax return next month, but I'll wait until April 4 when the DSi comes out. I went in best buy earlier this week and they were totally sold out of regular DS's I was like damn.

I know, I know that was totally a gamble on my part, TGM is rolling around with a Virtual Boy and she's got Chillen my age though......

lol I can't get my mom near the Wii. Now she's so addicted to Nintendo DS's Brain Age that its not even funny. If DS had some kind of Namco or Atari game package, she'd be all over that too but the only system I've seen that for was the PSP/PS2/PS. When I get my DS, she'll be getting "The New Super Mario Bros." as well. She really liked the old SNES/NES Mario games. (Wish they had made Super Mario All-Stars for the DS.)

If you do get a DS, play Hotel Dusk. OMG that was a pretty solid crime solving game ^^

The stylus puzzles were actually fun too and not so gimmicky.

We always had all the kids at our house. I always felt sorry for the ones that had to go home to empty houses so they were usually here for supper too. LOL I still have them popping in from time to time even though they are grown. Whats really weird is when they pop in with a kid of their own!! Talk about making me feel old!

Fyi, my husband says I've been laying eggs for 28 years. >< Maybe thats where all the missing socks and other various items are going......

I told you she'd love that Christmas gift! My husband isn't much of a gamer (Sudoku on the DS and FFXI with the occasional Zelda) and even he likes the Brain Age type games. There are a whole slew of them out there too. Might I suggest getting mother an EZ Flash V for Mother's Day??
