I totally understand what you are trying to convey. There is a lot of stuff on the Wii that I would consider shit too but it doesn't necessarily mean it is. It's just not geared for us. Once again Nintendo teeters on the "kiddie" precipice. There are so many games geared towards kids (and gaming nubs) that the more seasoned gamer is becoming jaded...........again. I have a Wii and I barely touch it. My daughter is addicted to Animal Crossing so she's on it quite often.

The new Tales of Symphonia game getting a UK release would make me consider buying a Wii since that and Smash Bros are the only games on it that I really want to play.

It's not really dreaming. Gaming is becoming bigger, better, and more serious with every generation. Compare Super Mario Bros, MGS, Halo, and GTA4, for example.

Compare gaming with TV, the internet, films; any new type of entertainment. Their perception changes with time.

I have some hopes for some games coming out for the Wii this year. I have noticed that I've become somewhat of a collector of game/game systems. I would own a virtual boy, but have you seen the prices on e-bay for one of those things! It's weird I'll get something like a 1st gen sega genisis just to put in my closet somewhere. I have yet to aquire a 32x after I sold mine when i was 13-14ish. I'd rather by an original copy of FFVII for the PC....oh snap!

That sequel to parasite eve is coming out this year for the PSP!

And also my Girlfriend bought me Chronotrigger for the DS and it should be here in a couple of days

It should be a test to get into NineinchNinja's LS that you have to be conditioned to play a VB for 3 straight hours and not toss your shit.

Speaking of selling systems. I remember I sold my SNES and all my games to Funcoland (Now Gamestop or EB Games) and bought a PS1 w/Bloody Roar 2 and WWF Attitude. I still have my original Game Boy, the fat kind. I also have a Game Boy Color that I played the hell out of and a GBA that I played for about 5 mins. I refuse to sell my gameboy games. My mom was going through stuff the other day and asked if somebody would buy my Game Gear games on ebay, I was immediately pissed but she told me that my niece broke my Game Gear years ago ;_;. I have a PSP that I havent played since like august of last year, I'm still keeping my PS1, PS2, Game Cube, and Xbox even though I have Wii, PS3, and 360. Sold my N64 back in the day with my Dreamcast (Should've kept the Dreamcast.) I'll probably rebuy the Dreamcast since I still have most of the games. I might also buy a Virtual Boy but I agree that the prices are kinda high.

Tales 2 is not as good as the 1st by a longshot. Good game but it lacks the impact the 1st had.


And BBQ, you are aware that you can rent a PS3 correct? Now granted there's likely gonna be a mandatory deposit on the blasted thing but that shouldn't be an issue; you'd have to smash the thing with a hammer and then toss it into the Ocean before it even started to fuck up on you;

PS3's are thankfully built to last, unlike a certain other console that shall remain nameless but is only 2-3 weeks old now and is trying my patience to no end.


And the GBA version of FFV is best not just because of the load times but the additional jobs and what is undoubtedly the best translation job. It's the same for FF VI, the GBA version truly is the definitive game.

Unfortunately, my VB was lost in the flood last year. I cringe every time I think about it. My son absolutely LOVED VB and would play it for hours. Ahhhh...to be young!

Tales on the Wii absolutely left a bad taste in my mouth. My son and I were hyped and I bought it for him for Christmas. (Thats a big deal around here because I usually get the games and I won't let anyone touch them until I'm done with them. LOL) I felt sorry for him as we played it because it just is NOT up to snuff. Now Tales of Vesperia on the 360 will rock your world.

Ya know, My ex-wife waited in life for 5 hours in the rain to get me a 360 on launch day back in '05. Sent it to me in iraq, got it 9 days later, plugged it into Iraqi electricity, fried the power supply, I sent it back home, MS replaced the Power block, and then I took it back to iraq in a pelican case, played it the whole time, brought it back, and 3 months later the thing finally shat out on me. 3 years later.

My friend on the other hand is on his 4th, 2 regulars, and this is his 2nd elite.

See! All that sand and travel and it took a licking and kept on ticking (sorry Timex )! We've still have my release day 360 and its going strong. My son does mega sessions of CoD on it now (he bought it from me) and his room is dusty as hell (god don't get me started on this fact) plus he's not very 'gentle" with hardware.

Definitely. My aunt somehow managed to drop mine while helping me to move back to college and the only problem I has was a totally unrelated game crash a full 2 weeks later. That was because me and my roomates had literally been playing Rock Band for 19 straight hours (Taking into account breaks for food/drink/nature calling) so the PS3 was likely so hot it was heating the entire City of Chester by itself.

I like my 360 but it seems to love making really loud grinding noises and carving huge scratches into my games. I'd take it back to the store I bought it from but it kinda went under due to the recession and they won't have it back (stupid Virgin Megastores)

HAHA! I haven't sold anything to Gamestop since before all our Funcoland and Babbages became Gamestops and EB Games. Back when I sold my SNES and games that was good money, I made about $350 which i exchanged for a refurb PS1. I only got the Refurb one because I wanted to buy a GameShark and they didn't make a GameShark for the PSOne newtype at that time since it had just came out. Yeah, selling the Dreamcast was a big mistake. I figured that I wasn't using it since the only real game I played on it was Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 and some bastard stole it out of my bookbag /cry. I stopped trading in games when Gamestop took over because they stopped listing the prices of the games and since they change "every day" you might get one thing one day and something else at the end of the week.

I've had my 360 since like February or March 2006 and never had any problems other than a few Disk Read/Dirty Disc errors. One of my coworkers told me that her son has gone through about 5 360's.

Most places in my area wised up about renting out consoles last generation, after so many PS2s were stolen, they just stopped renting them out entirely.
