Oh I see, nice. I probably wouldn't have time to play all that though. But no worries about making it possible, if I decided to go with a cheap (probably used) 2000 here in MX they are really good at enabling the un-enable-ble.

My Mood: | Re: PSP models - 2000 or 3000? The interlacing bit in motion isn't bad (to me, it looks like a horizontal version of the vertical lines I see on the 2000 version). Those comparison screenshots seem a bit misleading, using images that are supposed to be ghosting already. Somehow seems biased to the 2000 to me... Ok, not really. Because it's the same dude who did the video I posted above. I suggest watching the video where those (Disgaea?) screenshots came from.

I bought a PSP about a month after it was first marketed, so obviously I have the first model made... is it worth upgrading to a newer model? I have had no problems with mine so far...

Nope, works just fine. Was just wondering if the newer models have features/changes that make them superior?

Ya, the 3000 is a nice model. Better anti glare outside. The screen is the same size and res though. But there is a larger color palate now and a larger contrast ratio and quicker pixel response so basically a more colorful sharper picture. Built in mic on the 3000 now. Oh and the 2000 and 3000 series have video out so you can play PSP games on your tv. I don't know...thats all I can think of off the top of my head. The biggest thing is the more colorful sharper picture upgrade really.

They're also smaller. A lot of people think the newer UMD drives are flimsy, though.

I'm pretty sure UMDs are region free. Except maybe movies, not sure on those. TBH I tried watching a movie on my PSP once (Boondock Saints), and its safe to say I'll never do it again. I am also pretty sure PSP-4000 is officially announced, no details though. I have the PSP-2000 (TV out convinced me...but I rarely use it...need extender cable or something) and am happy with it except one thing: the battery cover sucks. I've lost my FFT save on it before (luckily had it backed up fairly recent...) because I picked it up off the table and the battery fell out. Also, my hands seem to cramp up when playing platformers (tried Daxter & PS1 Crash Bandicoot). Don't have it modded, though.

I have 2 - 2000 series and my son has a 2000 series and we've never had an issue with the battery cover coming off. We both use our PSP religiously, my son more so. He's even dropped his a few times and still no issues.
