OK I am thinking of buying a Nintendo DS, because A) I want to play Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, and among others. I would, like to know what games are worth getting for the DS? Also, can only some games work on DS Light and not Regular DS? Or can all games work on either or? I havent had a game boy system sense Gameboy Color came out, at the end of the 90s.

its an upgraded version of the DS.

The DSi will have the GBA slot for an SD card slot. Users will be able to access a similar service to what the Wii has and download new wallpapers, games and such to the system. It will also have better audio quality and 17% larger screens.

As for "wait til summer 09" there hasn't been a US release date set for it, but given its getting out in Japan before the end of the year, I suspect we'll see it early next year.

I honestly think the DSi is a bad choice but just my two cents:

You get a normal DS Lite with improved screen size and bette audio and built-in Opera Browser and Flash memory and GBA port (used not only for gba games but for a few not so great DS accessories). For extra 50 USD (plus import fees if that applies to you)

The rest of features you can easily find on low-end mobile phone (mp3 playback, low resolution camera, SD port, yadayada). Even if you don't own one, you can get one for those 50 dollars. at least it won't be nearly as heavy or big as a DSi.

In addition, you don't have to wait for the new release. But make up your own mind. What kind of games do you like? I'm not recommending you animal crossing blindly

Yeah I have a cybershot megapixel camera, a cell phone with a camera, and a ipod, so why would I need the dsi? I also think smaller is better that is just me. I think I will go ahead and buy the DS Light.

I like RPGS,Strategy Games,Action Games, and Music/Dance games.

Final Fantasy III is really cheap right now and I can tell you like final fantasy.
Guitar Hero DS looks like a nice game but only if you don't own a console/windows version. The DS version has just to few songs. Elite Beat Agents seems rather praised but I've never played it.
Advance Wars Days of Ruin is a great installment to start. Final Fantasy Tactics A2 looks good, but since I love and own the first I may be too biased.
And consider waiting for Pokemon Platinum version.

the camera is not even the main point of the DSi

-Nintendo has announced that it will be about 12% thinner than the DS Lite.
-The new handheld will contain two cameras (outside and inner, on hing)
-larger screens (roughly 15% bigger) (and to me it looks sharper)
-A new SD card slot will be utilized for external storage of pictures and downloaded software and to play AAC audio
-The DSi will have its own internal flash memory. Photos can be synced to the Wii's Photo Channel.
-It is possible to download games from an online store, called the DSiWare Shop, and store them on the DSi

Ok but honestly I don't care about having 2 cameras on it cuz I don't even own a Wii first of all so that's pointless for me. Also, I have a ipod ware I can store photos,files,music,videos, and movies. I dont need 1 more thing that cost more then something else just because it can do the same thing as my cell phone and or ipod can do. The only way I would buy it is they make it ware you have to buy DSi games or something. Other then that, I dont really see the point of it.

there will be DSi only games coming out, and the bigger screen/ better sound quality alone should make it worth it.

If they ever release a DSi exclusive game that isn't total crap I'll spend another 5 or 6 years without getting a single Nintendo product. Seriously.

Don't worry, it will only make it the pricier controller in the market but will also be totally awesome!

We can't figure new games and nobody wants to make super duper cool games for our super duper cool console. So we re-releasing old gamecubes that were already compatible! With controls ajusted to Wii Remoted!! YAY! Didn't expect this one, did you? Well nobody expects teh spanish inq...

That's not entirely true...but I am not going to get in an argument over something stupid. I gave the points of the DSi, if you just see it as a DS with MP3 then thats fine, dont get it.

If its a great time to be a gamer, please wake me up when next gen actually gets here. PS3 and 360 still have yet to impress me, guess I'll be sticking to PS2, DS and PSP a bit longer til next gen really happens. Persona 4 and KH: Re: CoM have more of my interest than anything "next-gen."

So far, only MGS4 has really met the potential, at least from what I've seen. Nothing else grabs my attention from forthcoming titles like Persona 4, but then, we're still waiting for most of the RPGs to come out anyway.
