Well I got most of what I wanted at Amazon except Left 4 Dead @ $19.95 PC version. I put it in my cart but by the time I went to check out, it was already sold out. I shopped at several other stores so far this early morning (3:30amish here) and got some good deals. But Sears, Target, and Walmart don't have their early bird prices up yet and I'm not staying up all night for them. LOL Really did need some stuff from Sears for gifts though.....hmmm....

Well its now 4:30 am and I'm going to be leaving for some in person shopping. WHOO HOO...........not. lol It's friggin cold out, I haven't slept in over 30 hours, and I know I'll be out there till well past noon because the lines will be a mile and a half long. If you don't hear from me in 24 hours, send a search party! Start at Best Buy!

Not strictly game related, but this black friday was a total failure. Started at Fry's, got there around 3 to wait in line for a bit, played some Dragon Quest IV to pass the time until opening. Get inside and immediately run to look for the few things I was interested in: A 1 TB hard drive that was on sale for $99, a nice Samsung digital camera for $67 and there were a few printers I was looking at for my parents. I get to the area with the hard drives and the entire shelf is empty, and when I ask an employee if they still have any the guy has never even heard of the hard drive being on sale. I give up and move on to the camera to find an enormous line to wait in. I wait for about an hour before they start announcing that some have sold out and surprise surprise, the first one to sell out was the one I came for. I move on to the printers to find another enormous line and decide I don't want to wait another hour to find out they are sold out, so I leave.

I head to Best Buy next for no real reason other than I happened to drive by and see there wasn't a line outside to get in. I look through the ad and one thing in particular catches my eye: Command and Conquer 3 game+expansion bundle for 9.99. I find the bargain bin containing all the PC games on sale at this price and dig through it until I find one last remaining copy. Delighted, I get in line and wait for probably 30 minutes to get to the register. When the girl rings it up.. it comes up full price. For whatever reason I was expecting this, so I pull out the ad and show her exactly where it is labeled on sale for 9.99.

"Oh, that sale is long gone by now, it's only for the first 8 copies of the game."

"......................"

I really don't understand first of all why they would limit a sale like this to 8 copies, and secondly why if you are going to limit it to 8 copies you put MORE THAN EIGHT IN THE FCKING BIN WITH THE GAMES.

That concludes my black friday shenanigans. I must now go and pass out.

I call bullshit on this one! She lied to you unless it was stated in the ad about the limit. See when this stuff happens you can't wimp on........especially on Black Friday. You tell the girl to call the manager. It's unlikely that she'll call him because it is Black Friday and they are supposed to keep the lines moving. So you'll get it at that price even if she's not supposed to just to keep the line moving! If she does call the manager, you make a stink about how they can not just decide to limit how many they sell at the price without it being in the ad or at the very least a sign on the bin. Since there were neither, it is false advertising......and you do it loudly. He'll cave, believe me.

FYI: I still haven't been to bed...........WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

EDIT: Just read the ad and saw the game. It says in the fine print (you didn't see this?) "Miniimum of 8 per store." So little Miss Suzy Checkout is a dizzball. Its not that they only can sell 8 at that price, its that they will have a minimum of 8 at that store so you better get there early if you want one. See if you had her call the manager he'd have smacked her upside the head, lesson learned be more outspoken.

I have one for you on the food front. Shortly after I married my husband we went out to dinner one day. He ordered a steak in a seafood restuarant which, imo, is a bad move. So our dinners come and he takes a couple of bites and starts bitching. I tasted his steak and it tasted like chemicals. (Obviously someone had cleaned the broiler but not very well.) I was so tired of taking care of things for him (already) that I said if he had a complaint to tell the waitress and let me enjoy my meal. The waitress came, she asked how everything was, and he said FINE! I'm glad I didn't have a steak knife in my hand at the time....

I went back and got it >.> I don't like being an annoying customer because I have worked in retail a lot so I try to avoid the raising hell and demanding to see the manager bit, but I went back way later in the day and ended up being helped at the counter by a girl I went to high school with so I didn't have any problems. A friend of mine picked it up too, but we had to go to a different Best Buy to find it.
