Although I do seem to recall that I've seen copies of VP as high as $200.

I picked up a copy earlier today, and while it is definitely very much worth $20, the main point of this thread is "bang for your buck"; not only in terms of quality but also in terms of length. Given how much of the fun of boss fights is in the puzzle solving, I doubt that you could replay it without losing some of the fun

While it's true, the games are a bit short, there are a couple of things to be said about them.

There is a world to explore, with many things to find. In SotC at least, I know you can get up to the hidden garden that you will see at the end. Also, given that most of the bonus items serve some purpose, I suspect that the Cloth of Desperation you can unlock on hard mode (acts like a parachute) might come hidden use.

And lastly, there is just something about these games that just keeps drawing me back for more. It's not like I'm left wanting more with these games, besides answers and maybe sequels, it's more of a, "it was a really great game I want to play again, and what new thing will I discover this time?" that keeps me coming back for more.

All three of the Shadow Hearts games for the PS2 are available for under twenty quid, can't go wrong with any of those.

Psychonauts - Awesome game if you like platformers. $15 for Xbox Originals version, I think it is cheaper on Steam.

I dont know how long this will last but Assassin's Creed for the PS3 is $30 at Circuit City Online Store.

Wild Arms 3 for six bucks? I'd buy it but I don't think I'd pay more than $10 for it. For me the story and characters are really important and this game left me a little flat. I loved Wild Arms but after that the games went sour to me. I'd give 3 a C+

I agree with the grandma on Wild Arms 3.. its good.. not great. 6 bucks is a great buy though

Xbox: Morrowind 20 bucks from gamestop. for more than 10x that in hours of gameplay if you try and do everyquest you can find and just explore the world. Id say its roughly 12 hours just straight main story. but honestly... who can go through a game talking to only the people you HAVE to talk to to advance the story.


XIII. A FPS thats cell shaded. I had lots of fun with this game nothing revolutionary in this game but great story and just fun to pick up and play. I found used to be like 4 bucks. If you can find new, it'll be less than 10.

PS2: Guitar hero Dual pack (I and II) thats 60 dollars... uhmm but its two games does that count O.o If you already have a guitar from III like i do.. im thinking of back tracking from GHIII and getting that dual pack cause i love the 3rd. If you dont use cheats it can take over 30 hours to rack up all the dough to buy extra songs/guitars per game.

Dark Cloud. That game was fun... never got to beat it though. Again i saw used for 6 bucks. IF you can find new im sure it will be less than 15. Its a great game. I never played the second one.

I can think of more later... its time to catch up on the 200+ pages of new posts that i have missed.

The PS3 verison of Orange Box is $32 dollars at amazon. If you think about it, you are only paying $6.40 per game since the Orange Box is 5 games on one disk. For those who havent played Portal yet, now you dont have an excuse.
