Three Red Lights Of Death!!! And it hurts inside....

Hello All,

So I have been without my addiction for about a week now. I received the three red lights of death on my Xbox 360... After many different trials, it must be sent back to Bill.

1. Unplug Power, Plug back in
2. Remove Hard Drive, unplug power, plug back in
3. Try steps 1 & 2 with and without a disk in the Xbox
4. Try your Xbox with a friends' power
5. Try your Xbox with a friends' Hard drive
6. Try your friends' Xbox with your power
7. Try your friends' Xbox with your Hard drive
8. Shake you Xbox vigorously (not recommended by Microsoft)
9. Start over at number 1 but skip number 9 on your way back.
10. Inform Microsoft that it's done and they will send you a prepaid box, which will take 2 damn weeks. They ONLY cover the XBOX itself, so don't put your Hard Drive/Controllers/Power/ETC in the box to send to Microsoft. Send your baby out alone in the cold harsh world and hope it comes back fixed in 4-6 weeks. Hope this was helpful.

When I sent mine back I had the box in a day, and the 360 was only out for less than a week. They just replaced the whole damn thing.

Holy crap! What did the box look like when it came? I still haven't received it yet. I hope I didn't miss it...

come on... What was it really like? Smaller? Bigger? Did you have to sign for it? Did it fit in your mail box? Did they leave it on your porch?

This is why I won't buy an Xbox360...it will die it's just a matter of time and I don't want to be without it for 2 weeks....

Hopefully your box will get there soon and you'll be ok...untill the hunk of junk dies again...well if it does...(I've just heard way to many Xbox360 failure stories so I refuse to put my trust in it)

The newer versions are much more reliable. Just make sure they have the HDMI port and you'll be fine. It will say it has an HDMI port right on the box.

Couldn't have been easier for me.

Canceling my Xbox Live subscription on the other hand was a legendary task. Twenty minutes on the phone talking to three different people just to get something done that should have taken two minutes in a browser. They even asked me if somebody I knew wanted to take over payments on the subscription, then asked if I knew anybody who wanted to subscribe. Terrible.

Almost as bad as trying to repair an iPod.

We're on our 4th 360 and the break-to-new-box process hasn't ever taken more than 10 days. The box is a brown box slightly larger than the 360 itself. Packing is quick and any UPS dropoff will take them or you can have a van come back to your place and pick it up as well.

The only really annoying thing about it (other than having to do it...) is that your live arcade games don't register with the new box so only one person can play them as opposed to everyone. That can be fixed by calling the support and telling them to update but *shudder* it's really not worth it.

boy that bad? I don't really like Xbox live anyway and I wouldn't pay for it(the only Xbox360 game I'm intrested in/want to try is just Blue Dragon and it's not worth $500)

From eveything I keep reading Live is not much better than say if you're using Gamespy on a PC...

I'm hearing good and bad things here. Fast process? Except it's been 8 days since they said they would send the box... You think I missed the UPS guy or something? I didn't get any "we missed you" note in my mail box... I really hope to get this thing moving... I'm only level 38 Damnit! I've got to catch up the last 4 years in the next 4 months.

It's really not the greatest thing in the world, but the 360 has a lot of solid games with promise of more. If anything they're great to splitscreen with a friend. A friend and I have gone through countless games on co-op mode. Playing on the hardest setting makes almost every game slightly enjoyable with friends, even Monster Madness.
