the trouble is that a good percetange of said games have PC editions or are just cross platfome console....plus I've never liked split screen...it makes it harder to frag people if I can manage it at all(ok I'm dead man walking in shooter games...split screen does make it worse)

a couple of examples of this are as follows:

Bioshock- on PC and it's supposed to be harder too...I love a chalange XD

Gears of War- PC edition in the works for Vista

Halo 3- may take a couple of years but it'll be there...Halo 2 PC just hit XD

(ETC. it's a long list)


I'm gonna play Wii, PS3 and PC editions and I won't miss much...except Eternal Sonnata and Blue Dragon(darn I love jRPGs). The PC I have in mind is expensive and I'm saving up to buy it and I have a few more plans than just games for all that expensive hardware...(I need a PC anywho XD)

It was much better before the warranty extension.

Friend of mine recently lost his 360, so he ordered the new box. They lost his address before sending the box and didn't contact him about it...he had to call 4 weeks later wondering what was up and had to go through a completely new order.

I was impressed with the process before. Everyone I knew had their systems out for 4 days tops before getting their new ones. Now, they take their time with it, shuffling around refurbished systems.

That's Microsoft for you...they could care less about their customers...all they care about is $$$ and avoiding class action lawsuits by extending the warenty...(probably costs them less than a huge settlement)

I kinda want a 360, but I can think of a dozen things I'd rather spend my money on before that.

GTA4 looks sweet and will probably never be on Wii (unless they do something like release it under the GTA3 engine or port it to PSP); Dead Rising looks hella fun, and Mass Effect's chat system looks very interesting. Gears of War looks interesting, but I judge the value of my video games off how much entertainment I get for the money, a lot of entertainment in a few hours is shittier than decent entertainment over a long time-- which I think most people that play MMOs will agree with :p

honestly, none of the systems out right now are really worth buying to me as video game consoles, HOWEVER I have a Wii because it's fun enough that I can stand to play Wii Sports/Wii Play over and over again. And of course Boxing is a good work out... if I actually did it...

BTW: I own a Wii because of Twilight Princess...I'm hanging on to it because of the Virtual Console, Mario Galxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl currently...and I'm hoping for more...

Really? Tell you what, if they didn't replace the 360 for free on the warranty, I'd be buying another one today. BTW:

Halo2: A must. (I know it plays on the regular Xbox, but it just seems better with the 360... maybe it's the wireless controllers)
Halo3: A MUST (September 25th, I'm taking two days off work)
Gears of War: Best co-op walkthrough I've ever played
Oblivion: Cross-platform yes, but game of the year...
Blue Dragon: Yes please!
Xbox Live/Marketplace/dashboard: You got to try it to see how nice it is. All the free demos you could want right at your fingertips
DOA 3/4: Possibly the greatest fighting games in history
DOA Volleyball/XXX: Do I even need to say anything here?
List goes on...

One more thing: How could anyone go 2 years without a next gen? Wii/PS3 didn't come out till Xmas 2006!

well it was either that or an Xbox360(elete is close in price and I'm not gonna have that Wimpy 20 gig with how much space FFXI takes up)...that seems to be made out of 100% real junkyard electronics...due to the high failure rate...

Plus now I get Rachet and Clank, MGS4, FF13?, and cross-platform junk XD

Honestly I expcet to play my Wii more when those games come out XD

I personally enjoy my Xbox 360 very much. For the consoles, it also usually gets the best versions of the cross-platform games, including FFXI (I said consoles!)

Xbox Live is nice if you like to play multiplayer games a lot. The unified friends list and features are nice. If you don't like multiplayer, Live Silver is good enough to get you on MMO's and access to downloadable content.

Games I am looking forward too in the next few months:

FFXI: Wings of the Goddess
Mass Effect
Bioshock
Assassin's Creed
Blue Dragon
Ace Combat 6
Project Sylpheed

ugh... the only real problem is how much it is all going to cost... I'll definitely have to save some of those games for my bday and xmas

I seriously doubt this and it's hard to prove with the PS3 just starting to very slowly get going as it's games come out. Plus I consider PC to be a legit gaming platform and it's probabaly the best for most shooter games.(the mouse it really good for precion aiming if you're used to it)

Despite the graphical differences(the Wii can look really good on an SDTV...on offence) I also have high hopes for the Wii and FPS games(the Wiimote makes for great aiming)...but as of right now Ubisoft has totally failed to deliver...maybe Metroid Prime 3 will show the way for other developers...

The only two games on you list I'd go for are Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonnata(just ain't worth $500+ to me just for those two games...and add in the high system death rate...)...the rest can wait for PC editions(or just get them) or if they aren't too attached to MS they have a slight posibility of being PS3 games down the road...


so far the 360 is wasting money with only a thimblefull of real exclusives. For things like Halo 3 it may take 2-5 years but they will be ported to PC...probabaly with better graphics and more multi-player modes...

P.S.: I'm not a big fan of shooters(although I like to take breaks from RPGs to mindlessly shoot at stuff)...I think that they are getting boring since most of them are just pallete-swapped copies of every other shooter game. There are exceptions like Bioshock which adds in RPG elements to mix stuff up but those are few and far between....

There is really nothing to prove. It's already common knowledge that the 360 has been getting the better versions of most of the cross-platform games. You can choose not to believe it if you want, but it doesn't change reality.
