I was skeptical about White Knight Story. My interest has been rekindled. Right click and save.

The first half is in-game stuff, and the last minute or so is CG. The textures are kinda weak, but it's made up for by the fact that there's a lot of characters with some great art direction. Pretty impressive trailer. I was already interested in the console after Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, but this pretty much seals the deal for me. Going to see if I can snag a used 20 GB PS3 for around $400 or less sometime next month.

I don't know. The characters look pretty generic to me. And most of it seems to be a pretty blatant FF ripoff. Not that FF has exactly pioneered certain concepts, but still.

These are the same guys who did Dark Cloud 1 and 2, amazing games, this just makes me want to buy a ps3 even more (including MGS4). I'll prob. find a really cheap 20gb here in a few months and just put in a new HDD.

Level 5 have never employed the outlandish character designs you're used to seeing in Final Fantasy titles, their art direction tends to be a lot more subtle. That doesn't mean they don't make some beautiful looking games.

I'm already sold on it, obviously, but I'm curious to learn more about how it plays. The fact that you can manually generate the design of your character has me really interested, as that rarely is the case with JRPGs.

And how can it be a FF ripoff? It has giant medieval robots. I don't, however, understand Level 5's infatuation with clowns.

If you're having trouble finding a 20GB for below $399 and you're willing to spend a little bit more, I do know that Gamestop and EBgames are clearing out their 20GBs online for $449. At that point however, I'd prefer to spend the extra $50 for the 60GB, so I think it'd be worth the time to look around more for a good deal on a 20GB, used or new.

I was just telling it as I saw it based on a viewing of this single trailer. Those of you who know more about the game or the developers are obviously more in the know than I am.^^

That said, I did <3 the Dark Cloud series, so maybe it would be worth a shot. You know, if I bought a PS3.

At any rate, those wondering about things seeming to be "generic" would do well to know that in a way, that's honestly what they're aiming for. This is an RPG about knights, squires, chivalry, and a princess to be saved... except with style. It will not have a convoluted storyline, as Level 5 has never been one to dish out that kind of content.
