Tried out the Jet Set Radio XBLA trial.

My review is the following:

It is JSR in HD with a second analog stick. No "Yappie Feet" as it couldn't get re licensed for the soundtrack.

Buy it if: You like actual colors on your HD console and miss how awesome Sega used to be and are OK with it literally being the DC game on your PS3, Vita or 360
Avoid it if: You are content with the dominant gray and brown of the current generation or somehow expected this to be better than it was 12 years ago.

Question: I used the light blues I got to activate it, as I thought they were needed (I got a bunch of them at chapter 2 to open up access to the power plant).

Do I need to setup a green power station first to change it? The achievement guide I have recommends to spam light blues later on to connect all the terminals;

If it reminds you of Guardian Heroes, well, that's because its by the people that made Guardian Heroes. The characters are just about every bit as insane and our heroine doesn't have much regard to her own safety with her lack of armor. Atlus is providing the usual swag - artbook and a CD soundtrack. I want to say its a Basiscape soundtrack because it sounds like that studio, but they don't have this game listed on their site.

It also has only co-op with up to four players, so that's a thing.

Pre-order Code of Princess, the 3D beat-em-up/RPG for Nintendo 3DS! Available Fall 2012.

Gamemaster Howard's Know-It-All by Howard Phillips — Kickstarter

Former NOA prez and one of Epic Game's overseers, Howard Phillips has an interesting kickstarter going on. Of course, I also feel the need to mention Chair Entertainment, which I think owns Epic, is also a friend to bigot and writer Orson Scott Card and makes games based on his works.

I guess one could separate him from this, but its your call, I only put it out there to inform.

Started playing Pandaria. Impossible to level in the new zones due to having 100000 players tagging every mob, so I made a monk. They're not bad, but I wanted to play my warrior. >:|

Tried the RE6 demo.

Rental at best. Jump scares, but no real sense of dread in any of it like the Jill path in RE: Revelations earlier this year. If you have a 3DS and haven't played RE:R, see if you can borrow one and just play that instead.

That's disappointing, his part looked the most promising. Oh well.

The collector's editon or w/e they calling it is actually a really good deal too - you get the game, + RE4 HD, RECVX HD, and RE5 Gold Edition + Damnation (the 2nd CGI movie) for just $30 more I believe. RE4 alone is like $25.

Yeeeeah.

I'll wait for an RE Wii U collection if it happens. REmake and RE4 Wii Edition are better by themselves than most of the other stuff combined. Toss in any version of RE2 and you have the best of all REs right there.

The Leon section seems more like an RE2 scenario, but Capcom rushed right to the "toss as much canon fodder at them as possible" pretty quickly. The whole "maybe this one is dead" thing also got old by the third time. The problem being it wasn't surprising the first time. This is a game that pantomimes what it thinks horror is and has no appreciation for creating an atmosphere or gameplay design that makes you feel genuine dread.

The nicest thing I can say about the demo was Helena was nice to look at from any angle. When you have time to consider how sexy your characters are the game has pretty much failed to establish the right atmosphere for a horror game or film. Alien was like, "Gee, Ripley being only in her undies is kinda HOLY SHIT XENOMORPH!" and that's just as it should be You should only ever be made to feel uneasy in a horror setting.

RE is more like "Oh, college kids making out... Jason will kill them" these days. There is no real effort even surprise you just like Friday the 13th ceased to be surprising and was more about gory ways to kill people.

When you make a genre shift, you have to be honest about it. RE4 was scary in its own way because the atmosphere was there, but it was made clear this was a change of pace. Capcom just kept running with it afterword and calling it survival horror even though it no longer was. The Aliens franchise also became an action series after the first really scary one, but no one pretended it to be otherwise.

Pandas are gorgeous though, I wish all of the character models looked that good. I will work some more on my Priest tomorrow after work.

I agree 100%, RE is not horror anymore, it is action/ 3rd person shooter

So all my Imperishable Night save data (except for Replays) got wiped last night somehow.

So I started unlocking stuff again. Tore up Hard mode with the Ghost team through Final A with 3 lives left in stock, and through Final B with 2 lives. Probably going to tackle Extra Mode today.

The game actually makes the least sense with the Ghost team (and being Touhou, that's saying a lot). For starters, how can a couple (well, one-and-a-half) ghosts prolong the night? Sakuya can stop time for short periods, Marisa and Alice are powerful magicians, and Yukari can do just about everything she wants to. Ghosts? Youmu can attack at relativistic speeds, but that's about it.

Not to mention the attack "Possessed by Phoenix" in Extra Mode. Again, ghosts. Shouldn't they be the ones doing the possessing?

Which is why I continue to lament the loss of Team Silent. Damn those guys knew how to make a creepy game.

Downpour *almost* nailed it, had it not been for a few design flaws (crappy combat, a shitty other world, just AWFUL puzzles even on Easy setting and there were a couple of loose ends in the plot.) otherwise it had everything there... I loved the cast (the mail man gets a million points), the setting was genuinely creepy as hell.
