VS Multiplayer can be terrible when you try to shoehorn it into a game that isn't balanced for player vs player. But co-op is almost always a good thing. They managed to cram both into L4D2 and TF2, so I think they know what they're doing.FYI, Gabe Newel said the same thing a while back - that all future Valve games will feature multiplayer and/or co-op in some way. So much for Half-Life....

yeah, but Half-Life strikes me as one of those games where you just wanna solo through it and enjoy the story & set piece moments.
but, that's my own bias - I don't like watching stuff with others generally (with a few exceptions or with my best friend 'cause Iher) so yeah, it depends for me on a game-by-game basis.

Mass Effect 3's multiplayer was just an excuse to get more DLC out there. Especially priceless was forcing you to divert from your otherwise 1-player experience to build up Effective Military Strength. I just stuck to doing more of the fetch quests because, for me, 1-player should remain a strictly 1-player affair. Even if the 1-player way of doing it isn't universally fun.Dead Space 3 I'm actually interested to try, but ME3's MP felt tacked on and rushed. Battlefield has always been about the MP so no issues there. But seriously, not everything has to have multiplayer.
Speaking of 1-player, I been playing 2 and 3 lately. But looking to upcoming games. Did Epic Mickey 2 and Power of Illusion get pushed back? I could swear the release date was October when I reserved them. Now I'm getting that they're November.

I spent 10 hours straight playing F3 last night. And I'm playing it with no fast travel this time around. So even after the hundreds of hours I played the game when I first got it I still managed to find quite a few areas I hadn't visited before. o_O;
So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if I hit another 300 hours this time around. <_<;
After that, New Vegas. Because someone has to Sheriff that place back to the right path.
Which means me controlling it all with my army of robots.

Negative. The only highlight of the Killzone series is the (brief) mission in KZ2 when you get the electric God-gun which has effectively limitless ammo and scores stunning proximity hits behind cover. Other than that 10 minute mission? Ehh. It's a serviceable shooter, but that's all it is.

After two failed fusions and four good demons lost to them, I'm somewhat back on track in SMT Nocturne. Completed the first kalpa of the Labyrith of Amala (basically the first level of Hell) and got a deathstone, so I'm trying to make my first Fiend, Daisoujou. I'm trying to get him to inheret Mediarama and Mana Refill before I go any further. He's hands-down one of the best summons in the game, so he's going to be in tow for a good long while.
Sadly Nocturne was back when Demon/Persona Fusion didn't let you pick inheritance traits and randomized them pre-fusion, so its a bunch of setting up and cancelling out til he inherits the skills I want and then i pray another fusion accident doesn't occur. Since those two skills I want to add are really high tier stuff, the game gives them a lower chance of happening together in a new fusion. Bleh.
After about fifteen minutes of toggling, I got what I wanted!
He Knows:
Mahamaon - High chance of death (Light)
Meditation - Drains enemy HP/MP
Mana Refill - Refills mana as you travel
Might - Raises odds of critical hit
Mediarama - Heals party greatly
Trafuri - 100% escape chance in battle.
Analyze - Scan for enemy weakness
Sukukaja - Raise party's accuracy and evasion
Gettin' rid of Analyze, Trafuri and and Might at some point, but all of those are of use for now.

I actually considered dropping that comment in spoilers, but seriously the storyline in the Killzone franchise is so threadbare that I could fill two pages of text and no one would be upset or surprised.

My Succubus is pretty nasty right now too, since Life Drain is just a notch below Meditation. It's essentially early free Almighty damage in the form of HP/MP drain

There were some scenes with striders and hunters that I think could have easily benefited from the extra strategy and/or tension that would come with a second player, but there are also stretches of the game where you are profoundly alone without which Half-Life just wouldn't feel like Half-Life. So, they probably couldn't do the whole campaign in co-op without wrecking it, but some skirmish-like scenarios could work.
As to what I've been playing, Khan Academy. Shut up, it's a game. It has to be. I don't know how else I can explain the way I've been feverishly attacking these math quizzes for five hours a day. That Kepler achievement will be mine by the end of the week.
About 30 min into "The Last Story" and already I'm liking it. The combat feels a little too simple, but the setting's interesting enough and I really like all the voice work
