I have found an unexpected feature the Wii U offers me.
HDMI cable means I can finally stop switching out the damn AV and component cables between the Wii and the PS2. Ya think it would kill TV makers to keep another row of AV plug-ins around >.>
Oh well, with PS2 finally plugged in full time, it means I can continue to ignore Sony's other consoles

FFXI and Tales of Grace F
Finally getting around to starting up The Last Story. Only a couple hours in but its got some really great ideas on how to expand enemy elimination for both RPGs and duck-and-cover games. At one point rather than expoiting an elemental weakness or shooting someone to death, it was just something as simple as kicking the bastards off the side of a bridge or even destroying a pillar or platform to defeat them. It'll be interesting to see how much the game expands on those ideas.

Made it to The End in Minecraft. Just need to wait for my friends to get online so we can take out the Ender Dragon and beat the game.

Yeah, it's good fun. But like L4D2, Survival mode is much more fun with friends than alone, especially since everyone tends to bring something different to the table. Since Minecraft worlds are randomly generated (assuming you're not borrowing someone else's seed) then there's a real sense of discovery when you explore and a sense of accomplishment when you pinpoint the stronghold with the End Portal. It's got all the social elements that drew me into MMOs and only 1/3rd of the grind.
Creative Mode is just fine on your own, since you have no boundaries. It's like having unlimited Legos and basic electronics.

Tekkit is already on the to-do list. We just want to get vanilla Minecraft out of the way first. Having actual logic gate blocks instead of having to implement ANDs and ORs and NOTs yourself with redstone torches is going to be fun.

Still playing Darksiders II here. My OCD self is crying at the large list of collectibles that aren't easily marked or located, but I'm studiously avoiding using guides until I've exhausted my own resources and (considerable) patience. Once I get as much as I think I can find, then I'll probably break down and look up a list of the stuff I haven't found.

After running through so many games (ME3 being the latest) I'm actually really starting to despise collectables (or shinies in the case of the uncharted series = don't ask) it's kinda neat at first, keeping an eye out for stuff - and then after while (doesn't take long for me these days) it just starts getting in the way of my enjoying the game.

I'm dividing my time between PSO2, Skyrim and Fallout 3 (I blame BBQ for reminding me about going back to F3.)
Sooo... yeah I don't see how am I going to be able to squeeze any more gaming in my free time without resorting to sleeping 3 hours a day. XD

Can't win 'em all ...
seriously, when they announced that C&C Generals 2 won't even have a campaign I nearly lost my shit. I like having MP, but I also like having games that are just single player EA - you know, so you don't waste time, resources and disc space on frivolous multiplayer elements (See: Mass Effect 3). Dead Space 3 I'm actually interested to try, but ME3's MP felt tacked on and rushed. Battlefield has always been about the MP so no issues there. But seriously, not everything has to have multiplayer.
FYI, Gabe Newel said the same thing a while back - that all future Valve games will feature multiplayer and/or co-op in some way. So much for Half-Life....
