Got really bored with DNC. They just don't solo quick enough for my liking, plus there's no thrill soloing it after 45 levels. I get it, I'm not going to die, but the enemy is going to die really slowly.

So I'm looking at my other solo picks and THF seems to be more compatible with me. I think I have a good handle on what I'd need 50+ but I might be overlooking some things before then.

Any NMs or special things I should be looking out for? I'm focusing on maxing RNG merits out right now, but looking for things to prepare in the meantime.

I didn't use anything special in that range. I went the evasion route, /nin and used bolts. Kill speed was better than /dnc.../nin was just more pricey. What the hell though, my thf is gimp atm...I lvl it while farming things that I can synth...

I've heard that /bst can speed things up well but I haven't tried it yet.

Assuming you already have Emp Pin/Lizzy Boots at this point, aside from that there really isn't a lot to choose from. If you're intending to solo bring some RAcc gear, and make use of Bloody Bolts to keep HP up and Sleep Bolts to land SA weaponskills. Other than that low-to-mid level THF gear is kinda blah, Woodsman/Sniper and Deft Rings, Drone Earrings for SATA if you're with others, Tilt/Life Belt, Spike Necklace, etc. Maybe some extra evasion gear here and there for soloing, though I've never really been a fan of evasion tanking, but I've also only leveled jobs which evade like a wet cinderblock. If you decide to flag up on it, I'd recommend subbing WAR til 50, bring Acid Bolts, you know that deal already.

I'm currently sitting at 42 myself on my RNG mule. but invites were extremely slow and I got tired of dumping all my bolts into soloing, so focusing on leveling WAR to 75 on Calli for now before I go back to THF.

/bst does move things along quicker and I focused on eva/dex/chr set up ...bloody bolts will help alot come 25+.

It's too god damn bad you can't TA pets or THF/BST would be oh so much fun...


But yah other than the hairpin (hairpin trumps boots b/c of the evasion) you really just need a good crossbow, ranged accuracy gear and bolts. Standard stuff really. Always go for the highest DPS daggers you can get too.
