Anyone notice a cap to damage?

Being a mithra with faily nice +Dex +Agi items, and the rest being +Attack +Str items, I've been noticing a "cap" to the max damage my SA+TA+VB does. Was doing BCNM 40 tonight, and always did Distortion for 551 base + 363 renkei effect, every time. I tried it with / without Berserk ( usually it adds some to damage before I got some of the nicer gear pieces ) and always the same. Got to a point where I didn't even both with Berserk unless I was doing SA+TA without Viper Bite.

Thinking someone with max gear cannot go over a "hard cap" per level. Anyone have similar experiences?
