AF2 = Suicide suit?

Assassin's Bonnet lvl71 def24 HP+16 DEX+5 Enmity+2
Enhances "Mug" effect
?@
Assassin's Vest lvl72 def45 HP+22 AGI+4 Enmity+3
Increases "critical" activation rate
?@
Assassin's Armlets lvl75 def16 HP+7 CHR+3 Enmity+3 Treasure Hunter+1
?@
Assassin's Culotte lvl74 def34 HP+19 Enmity+2 Steal+5
Enhances "Gilfinder" effect
?@
Assassin's Pouln. lvl73 def15 HP+15 CHR+5 Tripleattack+1 Enmity+2

Okay, taking this at face value:
What's up with the Charisma and Enmity? Does the enmity impact assist fuidama hate control more than it will screw it up? Does Charisma somehow affect enmity effectiveness?

Just a guess but, you probably get a lot more hate through SA + TA than you do from regular attacks. Wouldn't the emnity just help stick it to your tank that much better?

If thats the concept anyways, then this is sweet.

aye, it seems to me they upped the enmity so that when you do break out fuidama on your tank, there's just that much more hate on him.

and unrelated, but where're you finding the new af2s?

This new set of Thf's Af is meant for thf to become tanker. Sucide you think? Not really if you know how good a lvl 74~75 thf with sub nin and 2 blinks is. 60++ to evade and a evade skill of 270++, If a thf can control hate well, he can actually tank quite well.

the only reason for the +enmity must be that it transfers this hate doing fuidama, what i dont get is the +chr, whats it for?

Unfortunately, he would also have no way of keeping hate. No provoke, no healing spells, gimp attack damage and gimp elemental ninjutsu, when everyone is throwing 4-digit damage WS's? I'm sorry, won't work. Next plz, kthxbye.

Haha well spoken dude.. Just in case you think i am blabbering nonsense. I have been tanking hnm and mission/quest nms for my LS. If you have seen Ellone tank hnm you too will realise that wat you said is based on things which you think-tat-you-know-but-don't-really-do.

Are thf/nin the best tanker? NO. But can a thf/nin tank? YES. I say this because i know and i have done it. As to how i keep hate, tat is for me to know. As a tanker wat happens to my sneak/trick ws.... 2 words, Fxxx it!! There are enough attackers in my LS to do damage. My task as a tanker is only to minimise the need for the whms to cure.

*shrug*

I am no noob to this game, but there are a lot of things I do not know either. I have listed a few reasons why I think thf/nin is a gimp tanker, and you have done absolutely nothing to convince me otherwise.

I can say anything I like too. Is whm/blm the best tank? No. Can whm/blm tank? Yes! "As to how i keep hate, tat is for me to know" is nonsense, either you at least semi-explain how a thf/nin will keep hate, or stfu with this thf/nin tank crap.

I will say this again: thf/nin is a gimp tank. Prove me wrong.

LOL.....try looking at a few 74-75 thfs tank and you might change your opinion...

WHM/BLM tank will not last 5 hits against tote2s. Stoneskin will be penetrated really fast.

THF/NIN will not be a regular tanker but when there is a need to save MP or wait for mages to recover MP, they are very very good. Blink 2 and blink 1 together with capped evade skill of 270+, plus evade up equips...makes thf a viable tanker to stand in. as for getting hate, do a fuiuchi dancing, steal, mug whatever to drag the enemy to you.

Hate control is really up to pt config, dun expect a thf to take back hate when the PLD has flashed, done invincible, defender, rampart, sentinel, cured IV etc...however when hate is controlled well, thf can take it back with a fui dancing while the rest go recover mp.

THFs dun do that bad damage if triple attack kicks in every now and then. We attack for little but we attack fast.

Havent tanked a HNM, but i tanked an Amemet. Thats good enough to convince me that if hate is controlled properly, thfs can help stand in the gap.

*sigh.... You see i do not have to convince you tat a thf/nin can tank nor do i need to convince anyone that a thf/nin can tank. It's perfectly fine with me that you insist tat thf/nin tanking is gimp^^ This thread is about discussion on the new Assassin armours and if you do not believe that the additional enmity and Char is to allow for a thf to tank better tat is perfectly fine with me too.

Action speaks louder than words. Go see ellone tank a hnm. No point me explaining anything to you. He is in the same server as you and he hunts hnm quite often.

Miffycat:
ah.. if you dont mind, could you tell me how to hold hate for lv74+ tanking thf/nin using blink1,2? I may be coming back to titan to play my thf again soon and I am kinda interested in tanking some if i have a chance (maybe when duoing some high lv NM with a mage friend.. or HNM if possible).

I have seen some thf friend tanking after 74 mostly on HNM but i just curious how they do (i am a 71 monk atm).

I was thnking of blind and slow ninjatsu but no idea if they are that good.

thanks^^
