At what level is Picking Chests Enabled?

Hi, I am a RDM normally so I have no clue what goes on the thief side of the world. But I would like to ask at what level can thieves pick chests?? And how can your picking rate get higher? =] Thank you every much. ^^

I just lvl my thf to 15, for farming purposes, so cant be 100%. So, what I know is that you can use 3 types of keys to open chests. Those are Thf tools, Bone key and Living key, and I think their effectiveness is in that order too(or is it Living -> Bone). So basically, you can use them at any lvl, unless they come with a lvl requirement.

Also, you cannot use them if thf is sub.

so is the rate always the same at any elvel? casue im thinking of bringing alot of high elvel people with my low level thf to do my RSE ^^

Not 100%, but I think I read in this forum that the higher your thf lvl is the better chances you have of successfully opening a chest with a thief tool(or using the other 2 keys).

Oh, also, if you fail to open the chest with theif tool/key there is a chance a mimic will apear. They say those are hard...but I havent fought one yet.

For what its worth, I've used two skeleton keys (I assume they're the best...they're the most expensive in any case). The first, I was around level 34, opened the chest in ordelles without incident. The second, I was level 38, failed to open a chest in ordelles (during my RSE time), nothing happened, no mimic or anything. Still hurt to lose a 3k key though...

I just did my RSE in Ordelles tonight and was able to get all 4 pieces using Thieves tools. I only had one failure and nothing happened when that occured, so i just used another thieves tool and opened the chest. This was at lvl 47 though if that makes a difference.

Some chests are "trapped" and cast Weakness on you. It's not the standard 5 minute variety either, like from Raise. I have no idea how long it lasts, both me and my friend had to die to get it off, it lasted at least an hour before we went to die.
