Thief AF4 / Castle Oztroja Coffer
Can anyone provide some info on the location of the coffers? I printed a coffer map showing the location of the coffers, but I cannot get to the two areas. I ran around Castle Oztrojoa for several hours just now with no luck . There was a bronze door I couldnt get thru however.

The first dot is where you come up from after opening the first door with the switches. Follow the red line and you'll come to the second dot where a another door with 3 switches is located. You gotta crank them up and down some before the door opens. Then just follow the rest of the line, both maps with coffer spawns are up ahead, and there's only one way to go so you can't get lost. Good luck

Living keys will do just fine but skeleton keys are the best tho.

You think you're the best, but there is always someone better.

Not quite true, on one of the maps there's a small "pool" in the middle with leeches, you need sneak for those.

Pls remember:
- when you open a coffer you have to remove invisibility before you can do it. Make sure the coast is clear or else get ready to run after you open the coffer or hide. Same applies to when you try to enter the lever pattern to get into the coffer area. Tonko:ichi can be recasted on yourself without having to remove the old coat of invisibility.
- When you open a coffer with sneak, your sneak goes off automatically regardlessly if you succeed or not. If you see a coffer in the yagudo parasite pond and your lvl is not high enuff, i seriously suggest tat you DO NOT open it not unless you are ready.
- All thf who hunts for coffer should always be ready for the worse case scenario. You should always have your 2hr ready and a means of escaping. Either by changing CP for warp scroll, sub whm for teleport(which is wat i am doing) or logout. 2hr+any of the above 3 should be able to get you safely out of any messy situation. Best is to use a warp scroll, its casting time is rather fast and its casting does not get interuppted by hits. If you wanna save on it and use 2hr+logout then good luck to you. A successful single magic hit will break the logout and you may actually log back in with a horde of yagudo facing at you with no invisibility.
- If you are not experience in hunting for coffer in oztroja, just camped in the brass statue room and wait for the coffer to pop there eventually. In a span of 24 hrs, at least 2 coffers will pop at tat spot.

Even at my lvl, using living key at oztroja coffers has a rather bad failure rate. I seriously suggest you do not use living keys unless you are so sure you are very lucky tat day.

I thought Yagudo agroes only by sight?
And what's the succesful rate of the living/bone keys around lvl 50-60 for the AF quests?

yagudo parasites <> yagudos

They are actives leeches which aggros to sound and in the small area which they pop, there is around 4 of them. Open a coffer right in the center of them with a level low enuff to aggro them andyou will die very very fast unless you quickly 2hr and warp out. Its even worse whne your first attempt to pick fail and they start swarming to you.

Living keys have low success rate, around 30% success while skeleton keys around 75% for me now. The success rates for living is not accurate for my case as i have stopped using living keys for a long time except for coffers found while leveling. Opening a coffer for items or AF has no differences. The chances of opening a coffer for item and AF are the same. As such, when u fail to pick a coffer for AF, there is always a chance that it will be a mimic instead.

just activate your 2hr ability if you need to open coffer in the pond. there's 4-5 of them and they are strong enough to aggro up to level 59. open coffer, and while your ability still last, use warp scroll to get out of there.

I found the coffer in upper room with the Very tough yagudo, managed to open the coffer while they had their backs turned.

it was very exciting, i used two skeleton keys to open it, and thankfully no mimic

thanks for the tipps~

From my limited experience with mimics, it seems that mimic = death, I can't even flee from them cos ... I dunno why, I just couldn't ... and died horribly :D ... even when I was partying in Eldieme with a 70+ monk helping a bard do AF2 and we came across a coffer the mnk told our blm to get ready to cast escape in case it was mimic if I failed to pick (I suceeded first try using thief tools lol) ...
