basically (im only speaking from reading knowledge and word of mouth), that Warriors and Ninjas would be the best for a thief.

yet again, i chose white-mage and its working really well, lots of parties want me for my power and my healing ability.

i'd say, dont go with what is most powerful or whatever.... go with what you'd have more fun with

Quick... think of a word that ends in "C".

(no names like Civic, Eric, or Pontiac)

I use WHM when I solo, that way I can support myself with protect, heal and other spells, also at high lvl I'll be able to raise people and Invis/Sneak/Deo on myself while hunting Treasure chest/coffers :p
When I go lvling I use my NIN as sub, I just got it to 10, so I don't have any Ninjutsu yet, but I have double weiding, that's a nice trait for THFs, also NIN's main stats are DEX and AGI, like THFs do, so they'll boost your stats nicely...
And if you don't have a NIN yet, I'd suggest MNK because it gives you the Martial Arts Job trait (Decreases delay on Hand to Hand weapons) because the best weapons at low levels are Hand to Hand, by far.

just to note, don't count on casting rasie with the WHM sub out of the box unless you're a taru.

according to the stat calculator, as a mithra THF/WHM, u get 130mana at LV70. probably 135mana at LV75. You still would need to boost your MP via items but you sacrifice your other stats.

raise and reraise spells cost 150mp to use.

stat calculator is here:
http://ccwf.cc.utexas.edu/~nhart/Status_calculator.htm

i wrote down my stats for my WAR/THF on paper. I crosschecked and the calculator was 100% correct.
