BST/SMN pet comparisons

How do the maxed out summons of the summoner class compare in terms of overall strength/abilities/etc, to the best things the beast master can tame in the end game? I assume maxed out characters don't exactly grow on trees when it comes to posting on this forum, that can speak english at least, but what is the word on the street if anyone knows. Note, I am not interested in early or mid game just the absolute highest game content.
