Ok this part will be a spoiler but I will keep out the key info. you know when you play final fantasy 11 story and make it far, there will be an npc that can use 2 two hours at the battle field. I wonder
can we get a change to do that as well? it would be great to use our sub job 2 hour.
I use Astral Flow yay I wait 2 hours, I am now in a pt oh no the party hp bar is in the red zone bam
it's Benediction time wait 2 hours. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-15-2008, 08:40 AM | #2 (permalink) | | Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: Colorado Posts: 1,586 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 181 Thanked 112x in 71 Posts Gil: 20,092 Bank: 74,427 Total Gil: 94,519 Donate | Re: A* spoiler* a question and ideal. Square Enix will never, ever give us the Two-Hour abilities of our support job. Ever. A support job is supposed to supplement your main, not define it. Even if you could only use one or the other every two hours, it would still be to overpowered (Chainspell + Burst II anyone? What about G-Axe Warrior with Hundred Fists?) Yes, it is true that some monsters and NPCs can use both abilities, but they are meant to exceed the expectations and provide challenges for us. While many NMs get powerful abilities and attacks we can never used, this is balanced by the fact they they are run off of scripts and AI, while we, the players, have genuine strategy and intelligence at out disposal... Not that we actually use it anymore. | Originally Posted by Ellipses | | Really, it's just like pretty much every question about this game that begins with "Why." There are special battlefields, such as besieged, that let you use a Revitalizer that resets your two-hour. This is a special case, and you can't use revitalizers outside of the battlefield. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-19-2008, 01:37 AM | #6 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Final Fantasy 11 Posts: 57 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 65 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 2,961 Bank: 12,289 Total Gil: 15,250 Donate | Re: A* spoiler* a question and ideal. Also, you do realize that those characters are not using their subjob's 2Hr, but they literally have two main jobs, right? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-19-2008, 06:17 AM | #10 (permalink) | | Interior Decorator Keeper of Knowledge Join Date: Dec 2004 Posts: 2,140 Style: Light - Version 4 Thanks: 110 Thanked 274x in 184 Posts Gil: 21,860 Bank: 196,320 Total Gil: 218,180 Donate | Re: A* spoiler* a question and ideal. Yea, NPCs cheat in that they have dual jobs, both are full strength and fully leveled.
As for the challenge in this game, exactly how much of the storylines have you done because some of those fights are very challenging already and giving players an incredible buff like being able to use a Subjobs 2 hour would be HORRIBLY overpowered. Seriously, Chainspelling AMs, Rng/Sam using 4-5 WS in a row, War/Mnk going hundred fist with a Gaxe, these are all absurdly broken concepts that would tear through mobs. I thought that was the case, but it sounds like there is some doubt. Anyone know? (not wanting to derail)

Fun, oh yea. Chainspell + Manafont + just about anything = lots of fun and damage. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-25-2008, 01:13 PM | #13 (permalink) | | Wild Rover! They don't have mp pools to draw from, or at least to the point where they'd need the free spells. There are mobs you can aspir down to decent levels, but they're not that common.
And yeah, using 2hrs from subs would be kind of overpowered. The NPCs that do use both are specifically designed either to be ridiculously hard, or to be very useful when helping you out. I'm specifically thinking of a certain NPC using both Hundred Fists and Benediction, and another mob that uses Manafont (Chainspell) and Blood Weapon. They're not there to give you an idea on what is possible, just to make things harder/easier. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-27-2008, 09:35 AM | #14 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2007 Location: Final Fantasy 11 Posts: 57 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 65 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 2,961 Bank: 12,289 Total Gil: 15,250 Donate | Re: A* spoiler* a question and ideal.
