About the 70 BP

Why is it I hear that Leviathan is the best to use usually? I hear some people say it's because he does the most damage, but others have said it's just more accurate since its' only a 1-hitter.


Which is it? And why Shiva's Rush apparently suck so bad >.> ? What if all 5 hits land?

Levis spinning dive is the most accurate because it is a one hit BP and he has high natural ACC to begin with, it is by no means the highest DMG potential of the lvl 70 BP's. Problem with shivas is it is a five hit BP, without avatar acc gear and merits she tends to only land a few which in turn causes her DMG to be fairly weak. I have noticed that since the update to SMN skill her BP does better DMG, probably because I have SMN skill above the cap at 75 which helps the ACC of the BP. Some of them do better DMG on certain types of mobs as well, titans mountain buster pwns skeles because it is blunt, and garudas predator claws does very well on imps and other mobs weak to piercing. At 70 the DMG on all of them tends to be hit or miss, they really seemed to do a lot better at 72+.

Predator Claws is slashing damage btw.
Summoner doesn't get any level 70 piercing Blood pacts.

Garuda however does seem to have the highest damage potency if all 3 hits land.
Leviathan has the best accuracy he's main choice on High evasive mobs until you get physical accuracy either through merits, equipment or summoning magic skill.
This counts for all physical blood pacts really.

Also important to note what kind of damage the BPs are.

Rush, Mountain Buster, Chaotic Strike and Flaming Crush are all blunt damage
Spinning Dive, Eclipse Bite and Predator Claws are slashing damage.

I seem to use Garuda more than any other avatar except when I'm soloing. I use Fenrir for that because his perpetuation is lower than the rest. Carbuncle couldn't keep hate off me.

I think they really need to give Carbuncle a level 70+ Blood Pact that does damage. Even though he's the healing pokemon, I still want my radioactive rat/cat do more damage. Com'n Meteor!

Yeah, Levi and Titan are the best to use for consistent dmg on HNMs and Avatar Fights (although Fenrir does very well against most =P), but like several people have said here, merits and gear affect how others work as well. And once you attain the Lv.75 BPs through merits; some, like Meteor Strike and Wind Blade are very useful on HNMs and Gods ^_~

PC is slashing, which is why SAM/SMN/BLU pwn Imps @75 solo lol

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought Eclipse Bite was piercing like Moonlit Charge oO, although the animation does suggest otherwise =P Just wanted to get clarification. Thx =)

Hold on there, this I indeed have to confirm, ffxiclopedia sais the same thing about it.
I always assumed it to be slashing.

I'll be sure to test it out next time we fight the Jailer of Temperance and let ya'll know unless someone is ahead of me.

{Sweets.} Thx Shirai ^_^; Being Piercing instead of Slashing would explain why Predator Claws hits Imps alot harder than Eclipse Bite. =P

Shiva I'm convinced is Elvaan. So that may explain her poor Acc. Which sucks because it looks pretty sweet when the nekkid blue lady goes all NEENJA on mobs with Rush.

Leviathan seems to have the most consistent damage that I can tell, but I've yet to see any of the others out do a Pred. Claw. The SMN I always hang out with seems to favor P.C. over all others, but if he's main healing he just goes with Carby due to perpetuation costs.

Yeah, PC is preferred by all SMN in exp/merit PTs =D But in God fights and most HNMs (aside from those with low Eva like Jormy), most use Diabolos, Levi, or one of the Lv.75 BPs, due to being Ranged Attack and quite a few HNMs/Kirin are kited lol
