Rush is Blunt Attack type.. Tested on Bones in Gustav Did a test with Ifrit and Titan also and comfirmed. Chaotic Strike is A combo of Blunt/Piercing. kinda like a spiked Mace. Also all the level 70 BP's have a elemental attack or status attached to them. Such as spinning dive with is Blunt/water/bypasses defense. Flaming Crush is Blunt/Fire Chaotic Strike is Blunt/Piercing/Stun "lonnnnng duration" I havent tested this fully yet, But does Mountain Buster have a defense Bypass also? I notice the Accuracy is horrid but does considerale damage if unresisted.

Several things, Is there a way to make my second post go below my original post? Since the 1st post said it was tooo long, and it would be a good diea to have all the guide following up. And also, how did you verify that rush was blunt? Based on damage on skelletons? I do not understand why Chaotic Strike is Blunt/Piercing? Thanks DH |

And yeah Bones are easier to test Blunt damage, Birds for piercing, Crabs for crushing etc. Using chaotic strike I've tested it on diremites, birds, wyverns, crabs bones. On bones its resisted since its a combo type, But the stun effect still goes off well. Against crabs the lighting damage, the stun, and the blunt are not resisted very often. But the pericing effect is inherit to lightning as an element. Thats where I get it does both. Since Chaotic Strike is a physical attack with elemental damage.

Given the fact that rush is blunt, it should them in theory, do the same damage as mountain buster on pots?

Chaotic Strike is blunt, it does not have added thunder damage. Chaotic strike does not get resisted against bones. It does more damage than mountain buster if all 3 strikes land. Mountain Buster and Spinning Dive do not resist defense. They are single strike attacks that do a large amount of damage. They're either hit or miss. Multistrike bloodpacts do not get resisted, they miss. If all 3 strikes of predator claws connect, it will do more damage than mountain buster or spinning dive to most monsters.

Very very interesting. What dictates that if all 3 hits from Predator Claws land will do more damange than spinning dive and/or mountain buster? I have my physical accuracy capped so Garuda is a good option for me.

Id say wear the accuracy pieces of the AF, I use Relic gloves and AF1 pants to increase avatar accuracy. I'm also putting half merits into physical accuracy for them.

Just from observation, Predator Claws usually does more damage to EP than Spinning Dive and Mountain Buster will do. I say EP mobs, because there's a lesser chance of them evading a BP. So, you can get more consistent results. The reason Mountain Buster and Spinning Dive are used against VT-IT so much is because they only have to hit once to do damage. If even one strike of the multistrike BPs misses, the damage is substantially reduced.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and comments!! Tazirai, what do you suggest? Do we delete all the posts and keep the guide, is there a way to move all my guide into consecutive posts...? What do you suggest? |

That or if they do stack, we're already at a severe diminished return... Quote:
Anyway... Great Axes are under the slashing damage type anyway, I believe. Slashing is the most common for weapons. Axe/Great Axe/Sword/Great Sword/Scythe/Katana/Great Katana are all slashing. (And a few oddities, like vampiric claws.) Edit: Forgot Scythe in that list of weapons.
