Well with his experience of DRKs at around 30 that's what they would seem like. Every Parser shows DRKs just doing average damage with WAR/RNG/THF/MNK able to do better. That is untill DRKs reach something like 60+ then it all changes.

The DRK would probably out damage you if he was the same level. At 65, they get their first job changing WS: Cross Reaper(akin to Fenrir getting Eclipse Bite). If the NIN had also been 65, and the DRK sub THF, the DRK would most definately have outdamaged you.

But it's interesting to see your damage. What I'm really interested in seeing however, is how much damage a level 70+ will do vs. a BLM at the same level. I've only played with a SMN once past 70(haven't been there long), but I think me and the other BLM were outdamaging him, but he was also keeping up with the group buffs now and then. Predator Claws did do 1337 damage though(as in, 1,337 points of damage) which was pretty cool ^^.

Hmmm,

Nice to see some solid Data about how a Summoner is dealing damage. Sad though it has to rely solely on Fenrir. I'd love to see more intrinsic data dealing with the other Summons after the Patch occurs, just to see what happens. If you can, please post it Gryffes, as Smn will be my 2nd Main job after I hit Dark Knight 75.

As for the Hume Dark Knight using AF, well, I tend to agree that at that level, he should had have Haubergeon. Usually in my opinion, Drk AF is pretty nice stuff. Problem is, compared to Haubergeon it only lasts a few levels. 62 with Full AF is kinda Pushing it. I myself honestly would'nt go past 61 without Haubergeon.

As for a Comparison of Full AF vs Full RK armor, as a Mithra, I'll go full Drk AF anyday. It just boosts far far far too many of my weaknesses as a Mithra Drk. More Mnd for resisting Paralyze so I don't miss the Damn weaponskill chains or a vital drain or aspir. Not to mention better resists vs sleep and other group aoe debuffs. ><

More Hp overall for Souleater, More STR, Dex, Attack, Boosted Weapon Bash so I don't have to worry about Two stuns and a single weapon bash not being effective enough to stop a mob from casting the Ancient Magic Spell Freeze.

(( Btw, yes, this Happened. Was in a Alliance doing Eldieme Coffer key and the 60 Drk hit with Both stun and Weapon bash. The 60 Drk was using Full AF, top of the line gear for her level. The Mob did not stob casting freeze and we all got nailed hard. It was just a coffer key hunt so no real need for Haubergeon. My Stun and Wpn bash were not back yet as I believe we were fighting an add at the time as well, and I had to deal with that one as we had split into to two groups to take down the mobs. The mob attempted to use Freeze later on again that fight. Drk had Stun back as well as Wpn bash after the add was taken care of. Drk used Stun. No Go. Drk used Weapon bash. No Go. I used Stun, AGAIN Nada. Mob kept casting. On my weapon bash, for some INANE reason, the mob FINALLY stopped casting Freeze. SHEESH. ))

More Defense and Vit which helps me take a hit better.

(( Alot of the tanks I end up pting with suck and can't hold hate. Not to mention almost every darn Thf I come across always nails me with the 2nd SATA during the fight, so suddenly I have to hope I tank enough to live. ><

Then again I have good PT's where I can like 7 levels a night...so....experience always varies. But ugh. /cry ))

The only thing I go " Meh " At is the Boost to Enfeeble. If they wanted to boost Enfeeble, they should have given Drk's more enfeebling spells instead of Poison II, Poison, Poisonga and Sleep. Blegh. Yeah....we're absolutley teh bestest enfeeblers yes we are. ( Note the sarcasm )

Other things are boosted overall as well, and as a Mithra I have enough accuracy that I can compensate fairly well enough for things to use full AF to my benefit.

As for Galka and Elvaan however, I'd recommened Full RK for them. It just boosts too much of what they need as a Drk. Humes.....can go either way. IMO Humes make one of the best Drk's in existance. Extremley versatile.

Tarutaru...I'd kinda recommend Full AF until Haubergeon. Again, just boosts too much of their weaknesses. Especially their hp, and their Soul eater damage needs any boosting it can get really.

So it's all just a matter of view and opinion. But yeah, I agree. At 64-65ish he DEFINITLEY should have Haubergeon. ><

Anyways....ugh, back on topic.

I look forward to your additional Information Gryffes. Keep us Posted, and thanks. I have a couple of Summoner's in my linkshell, one post 50, the other around 30 by now. So I'll keep in touch with them and find out just exactly how the patch affects them in the longrun, and see if even Summoners at the lower levels can become viable damage dealers. Then I'll post their comments and reactions to the patch up here in the Summoner forums.

Take care all,

Draconis

When they are casting AM, because there is such a long cast time, even if you interrupt the spell 2 secs in on the cast, the mob will still stand in cast animation for an additional 8-9 seconds.

This is most noticed when you have a rdm in PT, casting silence as soon as he/she sees freeze go off. The log will say silenced, the mob will stand around casting a good while more.

Same for players. If you get interrupted, you'll stand casting a good while still. Only fast way to interrupt long spells, such as lvl4 nukes, teleports or AM's is to sit down fast. (/heal)

Good luck in the future. ^^
