Re: The List

Afraid he's not the only one, there is no excuse to party with sellers. None at al if you've waited days on end with no invite then you receive one from RMT the answer is still no. People who answer yes and go I wish to know of as I won't have anything to do with them.

All I would say is that you may see yourself as a serious player and a big contriubtor to Seraph. I don't know myself how true this is, on titanictus I always found you to be a good soursce of knowledge. However actions that support sellers cause massive damge, partying, aiding in quests, raising, teleporting and anything else you care to name. Those that willingly and knowingly do this damage Seraph as a community.

Again this is my opinion and as with yours is El is valid.

Re: The List

>_> Tsing proof read your post

But on topic ^^ i can see no reason why people who allow RMT to level up should not be scrutinised, providing they have been informed of this and know what a gil seller is. I think its disgraceful that Gimya, possibly the most reknowned RMT on the server was able to level up his/her/it's Samurai mostly with normal players... I can confirm that Gimya is now leveling with a full RMT party including Norara and various others.

Now obviously people are entitled to their opinions on gil sellers, but surely by the same logic we are entitled to an opinion about those people? I find this list very useful, and not at all damaging, infact quite the opposite. I use it to confirm whether someone is infact an RMT, this means i'm not falsely accusing someone. Admittidly i think Cole is a fanatic, but i have no problem with that as he has created some articles, excluding this, that are very useful.

Re: The List

I wonder how many innocent players have been screwed over by your list, RD.

You remind me of a school I went to when I was younger, where basically the teachers would decide for themselves who was wrong, and wouldn't take the kids off suspension until they admitted to what they had done.

Which meant a lot of kids either admitted to stuff they didn't do, or stayed suspended for weeks at a time.

Re: The List

No innocents have been harmed. There are screenshots for the majority of the PTs with sellers list, and the entire list of actual GS is correct, as anyone on Seraph can tell you.

Re: The List

You know what though? Back in the Rabao days, I was accused of fishbotting.

When I spent a month crafting up insect paste, I was asked where I got my synthbot.

Now, at the time, hey, he's doing something popular to make money, and a lot of it! OMG BOT! OMG SELR!

Seriously, take a step back and think about it. What amazing proof do you have someone is selling gil? I'm sure GMs would love to see it. Except, you don't have proof, just blind accusations.

Yes, there's a lot of things that lean towards someone being RMT. Those same things could also be a sign of something else. Honestly, word of gilsellers will spread without this Orwellian list, don't try to force your opinions like this.

Not to mention, it's incredibly easy to abuse this list...

Re: The List

It does not take a genius to track the people who have been on 24/7 for the past few years. I started with the Archer Ring campers, the VE crew, and the Argus bots. Lo and behold, they moved on to Amemit. 24/7

Give me a logical explanation, go ahead.

Seriously though, it does not take a genius to spot a gil seller. Now either go get on Seraph, and track them yourself, and use common sense, then come back with an explanation, or go argue somewhere else.

There is no one on Seraph who will dispute the names of sellers. There is a difference between your 'blind accusations' and remembering the names of the RMTs who have been monopolizing and MPKing for years.

Or how about I not, and have a life? Seriously dude, it's a freaking GAME. How about you stop caring about these people so much and enjoy it?

Yes, no one wants to help RMT. If these RMT are so 'undisputed' as you claim, people would just avoid them, why would they need a list?

All this does is invite blind accusations and abuse, you might as well put a Gil Buyer list up too, it'd be just as much hearsay and "omg, he's doing something outside teh lines! TEH EVAL~!"

Re: The List

Yes the list is my life, I spend all of 5 minutes a month updating it, the list is life to me. And people don't know to avoid them, because the majority of people who are not already at endgame are uninformed.

I thought if I asked ANYONE on Sylph, they wouldn't dispute it?

But then all these people who aren't 70+ don't know? Make up your mind...

Re: The List

A. People who are 70 or less, really don't know much besides leveling.

B. No one on Sylph would recognize any of the names cause this is the Seraph forum.

C. I am not going to respond to you anymore. Go PM someone who is a 75 on Seraph to confirm the list, then shut up and stop flaming this list.

I think there's quite a few people who'd disagree with you.

Unless they're RMT themselves, I have very little faith in who they say is selling gil or not.

I love how you put so much focus on Lv, like you suddenly switch servers when you hit lv70 or 75, but that's a different topic for a different thread.

Double Post Edited:
Btw, "Shut up and stop flaming" isn't really that much better than "stfu"

Re: The List

Unless you've been on the server Feba, I don't believe you would really see what we see, though I'm sure you have the very same thing happening on your server and perhaps you just really haven't paid enough attention to notice it. However, many of the names that you see on the list are of players who have long since disappeared from the server, quite suspiciously after SE's reported account banning, and others after some of SE's more significant measures to cut down RMT effectiveness. Coupling that with initial suspicions of the players in question, I find little doubt in what those players were.

Some of them have gone, and similar names have popped up that resemble them (Qaswsx was a constant Archer's Ring camper for as long as I can remember. Disappeared after the Rare/Ex update, though I've seen a player Qaswst running about). Same could be said about the well-known "Kiss" group that was known for camping the Valkurm Emperor. When the Rare/Ex update hit, they tried to go to Korroloka and just farm for Morian Tathlums. When that didn't work... they just upped and disappeared too. Now I doubt that these people come on and 24/7 camp these NMs just so they can build an in-game bank account to beat out our server's gillionaire, Muteki, just to give it all up and walk away. While there may not be direct proof that some of these individuals are gilsellers, to not even raise an eyebrow towards their actions would just be plain ignorant.

However, more pop up as more leave, and they're not too hard to spot, as you'll see groups of lower leveled ones being PL'd by one, two, even three known RMT players. Several of them have banded together now, more than ever due to player awareness and update restrictions.

The people who are on that list are on it for reasons good enough. Although I've had few occurrences where these players have really irked me, I know of several who have had disastrous encounters with them in the past pre-MPK and pre /blockaid update. While some people don't care who they pt with or who they help/get help from, several do. I can still enjoy my FFXI experience, while at the same time knowing who I don't want to help for obvious reasons.

For those who are afraid of this thread and see it as a threat to this forum community, do keep in mind that you do have the choice to *not* click on this thread and view its contents. As long as the posters and visitors here keep their comments within this thread, and not make new threads for the sole purpose of referring to this one, you should have no worries of exposing yourselves to this sort of discussion other than a two-word title on the main board.

On a side note, regarding Barrabbas, I do not buy that excuse one bit. More than likely he hasn't been able to join an HNMLS due to his attitude. On one occasion in particular, he was in Lower Jeuno shouting for help for G2. He had been shouting for it for quite some time, and when he couldn't get all the help he wanted, he started cursing out all of Lower Jeuno, targeting the high level players for not helping out and being lazy and too snobby to help out the lower leveled players. That's hardly a way to put yourself into a good standing with the community, and it's more than likely that type of attitude that didn't get him accepted into any HNMLS's. So instead of mending that reputation, where does he go? To a group of people who obviously don't give a damn about reputation or decent behavior, as long as you have the means to make them money.
