I'm saying this because on Alla, there were 17 pages or so of flaming after the initial post. Flaming here = no. so this thread has to go.

I dunno how a thread like this and no flaming can possibly co-exist. Especially when you call people out for partying with gilsellers considering that gil sellers don't come here to defend themselves/gloat/flame.

Morons on allak who flamed this thread will either A. Not come here, or B. Admins will have them banned becuase you get warnings/bans for every single cuss word you have here, and the kind of people who flamed this post in the past on allak can't talk without swearing.

This list is the cause of a lot of drama, and the McCarthy quote is valid, as you have effectively made a blacklist. While you list people who do no more than associate with gilsellers, you will get these comparisons to McCarthy, who blacklisted as communists people who were known associates of communists, with no actual proof other than association. This thread is useful, but very biased.

I would prefer all partys with sellers be given 10 or so minutes to disband once the initial warning is given. After the 10 minutes, I say tag 'em and bag 'em.

Is everyone caught in such a party on your list as well? You seem to point the finger too freely. People accuse people of being gilsellers all the time, and staying in a party for 10 minutes when a stranger asks you to disband does not make you a gilseller.

I feel open admission should be the only way to get on your list. As screenshots are easily faked, reliable, solid proof would be hard to come by. Getting a gilseller to freeley admit it would be difficult, and if they did you should really call a GM and report it, not try to MPK them. Put them on a list, but don't be suprised when people accuse you of a witchhunt.

Personally, I don't use your list, though I would never want to party with gilsellers. I can understand you wanting it, though the drama it entails is inevitable. I would like it to stay, but I wouldn't want it stickied - that would equate to endorsement of it. Keeping it unofficial might reduce drama a little. I assume you are intellegent enough to keep replies civil, I'm pretty sure you can keep a cool head and not fly off the handle at people. You don't need to, this isn't alla, as you can see moderators actually moderate stuff around here :p

The PTs with gil sellers part is a moot point really now, since they have all just been manaburning. Only ones you get remotely added are insane people like Zuzupetals who believe that being nice and helping Gimya is okay because Zuzu is a Christian. And after 780 posts, I have heard every arguement before, been called and E-Terrorist, E-vigilante, every cuss word in the book, and was reported to allak admins even. The List stood the test of time and will remain so long as I play the game. If you would like, I can link the old thread and you can go see all the arguements and me making people look stupid. So just ask if you want the linky.

Just to be clear Barabbas is not a gil seller, he partied with Gimya in CraryWeekend because and I quote...

His later quote of

Was amusing mind, this was a direct conversation in Jeuno over /tell. He stated he did not sell gil which I do beleive but rather feels frustrated he can't attain his goals with legitmate players so took the only choice he felt he could to obtain what he wanted.

I have my theories over how a player may end up in this situation however that would be conjecture the above is fact. As I say I do have screenshots but no deep desire to pist them up unless anyone is interested.

well I suppose in your eyes it would be better not to know who is associated with RMT and who'm not to help that has played a pretty penny in the inflation of AH prices and make it nearly impossible to camp a HNM that isnt forced spawn.

As the saying goes, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." I'm wary of this thread's posture, but I see the good intent behind it: that is, impeding the spread of RMT by refusing to help the people who practice it gain power within the game to be effective. This has potential to lead to bad things, I agree. However the thread itself breaks no rules, so in my opinion the only appropriate thing for us moderators to do is to monitor it and put a stop to negative side-effects as we see them, flaming and harassment for example.

I do thank you for your input, however.

This is not an admonishment, but simply a request: if you wish to make a post of this nature in the future, requesting the closure of a thread or some other change to the site, make a thread in the Comments/Suggestions forum or send a PM to a moderator, rather than making off-topic posts in a thread we may or may not deem to have merit.

From reading some of the posts it seems some where deleted. From other peoples quotes it looks like they were from people who did not agree with the “List”

In all fairity shouldn’t you allow these comments to go un-deleted if the other replies are allowed to exist?

To Jath: I care little about your cause. FF11 is what I play to unwind at the end of my work day. You have a point to say that RMT’s is what ruins the game. In the most simplistic way there are two types that ruin my game experience on FF11
1. gil sellers
2. people who cry gil seller.

I believe #2 I resent the most as they seem to have no problem stepping on toes to make their point.

The posts that were deleted were flames to ioshua, who objects to the list, by RunningDemon, who created the list. There is no thought control going on here, and I would appreciate it if you didn't imply such. The only reason they were deleted is they contained personal insults which are against the forum rules.
