Where are the SAMs?

This forum is dead! Where are all of you guys with all the new super awesome infos?

I just started pushing SAM up, just hit 37 or so. Been pretty fun. I haven't been around in a while, and was just wondering if anything has changed dramatically in the last few months?

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Nothing's changed for sam in the last few months. The ACP gear doesn't really apply to SAM. Keep on leveling! If you have questions feel free to start a new post and ask them.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Alrighty then. There any specific pieces of gear I should look out for? And are the Fumas worth wearing if you have no other haste?

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Fumas are worth it if you have the gil. The Walkyrie's mask at level 40ish will help. If you got the gil okotes are good to grab too. The leg piece at that level i think is the kingdom subligar, +5 attack i think. Jujitsu gi +4 accuracy i think is around 40ish. Swift belt at level 50. Snipers at 40. Those are the pieces that stand out to me. Been 75 sam now for over 2 years so memory is a bit fuzzy.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

I have the rare/ex Fumas, and O Kotes. I have a Jujitsu Gi, and the Kingdom Sub. I dont have a swift belt or snipers, or much of a way to obtain them (I play with a small group of people). With the dex changes, Snipers only appear to be a very small boost over +3 dex rings. If I could get my hands on the Rajas, it would be an even smaller gap.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Fumas are indeed very nice, but I wouldn't worry about using them until you've gotten a full haste build. More importantly, I'd actually recommend using the Hachiman Boots once you're level 70 to maintain your 6-hit build until you've maxed out Store TP merits and/or gotten your hands on Usukane Feet which are IMO, the best upgrade for SAM.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

I found a SAM outside the Mire.
I found a SAM at Neptune's Spire.
I found a SAM inside Ru'Lude Palace.
I saw a SAM run from a tonberry's malice.
There was a SAM in Xarcabard,
Another in Whitegate shouting for a bard.
One begging a COR to spin his cards.
And one sitting LFP, the Galkan tub of lard!

We're a dime a dozen, SAM I am, join the hive mind or you'll be damned!

DEX+3 means Accuracy+2 for two-handers. Sniper's Ring (or Woodsman Ring) is Accuracy+5.

Can say Accuracy +3 is a small boost, or say it's (Acc difference)/(DEX+3's Acc) = 3/2 = 150% boost.

And, you can get your hands on Rajas Ring, but not Swift Belt? That seems a bit odd.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Consider using a Polearm against piercing weak enemies (Birds, Mandies, Colibri, Flys, Bats, Puk, etc). You get a 25% bonus to damage, and you get Penta Thrust at Lv51, which destroys GKT until Lv60 (Soboro is the exception).

Getting a swift belt is surprisingly difficult. I still don't have one damn it, and I beat CoP over 2 years ago. Organizing a run (and getting the damn drop for that matter) is a total nightmare.

... Sacrarium is cursed I tell you.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Completing CoP for Rajas is far more practical than the crapshoot that is obtaining a swift belt. I've been on my fair share of runs, witnessed Kallo bemoan his numerous runs for one (while rubbing mine in his face) and lost several hours of my life helping others try to obtain one their own.

Kallo finally got his, but I think Aniero doesn't so I can still rub it in someone's face.

I still need one for Foobar's BST, but I think I'll just stick with my Life Belt, really.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Some folks are exaggerating the difficulty getting a Swift Belt. If one has an LS or static group that is willing catch up people with CoP, one can probably get Swift Belt.

In fact, for the last CoP group I was helping with, I scheduled two of the time slots for Swift Belt runs; six belts total from those two nights (there were few newer members who didn't have Swift Belt, so I dragged them along). Everyone in my LS who finished CoP has a Swift Belt, IIRC. (If not, I should probably schedule a run or two.)

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Woodsman tend to be cheaper than sniper rings.

Also I would tend to wear the Fuma full time unless you are sitting at lvl 70 and have the Hachiman boots available to you. If you're using Hasso that becomes +13% haste, and if you are being hasted by song or spell then it becomes more.

As for CoP and it's items, it can be difficult or easy depending on the people you are with, simple as that.

Heck, I remember a couple of people who were wanting a swift belt when my CoP static was making it's swift belt runs. However these people were normally off exping or something else when we did them, despite the big Lsmes, and forum posts, detailing the time of the run. They've left the LS since then, and I still doubt that they have a swift belt yet. But according to them at the time it was impossible and too hard to get a belt run together since no one was willing to help >.>

And truth be told we were not that willing to help after doing, gosh I think it was 5 separate runs, took forever for Firecloud to get his belt, one run a week so that's 5 weeks of swift belt runs, and these people couldn't be bothered to join one of our farming parties, buy a codex, or get fomor hate, or anything.
