Re: Where are the SAMs?

I take it back. Some people have incredibly bad luck, apparently.

On any particular run, I think the worse I've seen was 1 belt in 5 pops or so. The best was 3/4. (Or was that 4/5?)

I'm surprised you even know that word. <.<;

So . . . does the Swift Belt hate Seraph in particular or something? >.>;

Re: Where are the SAMs?

I've seen several runs where no belt drops at all after several pops. Its a hard drop and the only real reason I have one was because of a WHM friend who let me have the drop because she just wanted to pop one of the fights with her codex to shed her hate, not because she needed the belt.

It was the one of maybe two that dropped that night. There were several more pops than usual on that run, too.

Think about sacrarium is getting people down there to navigate it without wasting time. The more people you have, the worse it is. Incorporating it into a CoP static is something I never will do, as it distracts from the main goal. Plus if I did that then I'd have to stop to get SAMs their Soboros or BSTs their Tatami shields and so on. No thanks, focus on sea access and rings first.

To each his own, I guess. Four people stuck it out from the start to the end of Promathia, and all four have Swift Belts now, along with nifty ring. Two other people who were helping out with the missions now and then also got Swift Belt.

Everyone's happy.

Nope. I told them no on Soboro (not enough people), and no one wanted other stuff. It's OK to say "Yes" to Swift Belt and say "No" to other things.

As nice as it is, Soboro really isn't a must have for SAM anyway.

Can say Accuracy +3 is a small boost, or say it's (Acc difference)/(DEX+3's Acc) = 3/2 = 150% boost.

And, you can get your hands on Rajas Ring, but not Swift Belt? That seems a bit odd.
Really? I must have read wrong then. I thought 1 Dex = 1.5 Acc when using a 2 hander. My bad.

And my mistake on the Swift Belt... I was thinking Speed Belt, and I knew that was difficult to get.

We had planned to do the CoP stuff as we leveled, and I was hoping to get a Soboro in the process, but so far we keep getting synced down below 30 because people keep changing their minds on what they want to play.

SAM is 46 or 47 now, though.

I've heard this before, but I dont have access to a whole lot else but those, or my bounding boots. Thanks for the info though. Is the salvage stuff a pain in the ass? I haven't seen much, but just reading through it real quick, it seems like it would be a lot of work and luck to get 1 piece made.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

It can be. The drop rates on Salvage gear are just awful, and keeping enough AP to keep doing it means forgoing Nyzul Isle (glad I've got my Runic key! Wish I had some of the armors though) plus the pieces can be quite expensive to upgrade, especially the bodies.

But it's the best stuff you'll ever get for your SAM barring Hachiryu.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Rawr. 50 now. Its been pretty fun, but catching my skills up from syncing down throughout the week is being quite the pain in the butt. Can't wait for the boost in the update. I love the ability to help my friends that decided to come play, and having the flexibility to solo FoV while everyone from my group isn't on, but holy crap. Skills get behind quick.

Just got SAM (well, I'm in the 3HR wait period). Any tips for low levels? (and yes, I know where the "Search" button is...)

Re: Where are the SAMs?

Always carry the best Bow you can and appropriate arrows. Keep that Archery skill leveled up right along with your Great Katana because SAM has the 2nd highest archery skill in the game and makes a for a good puller with Seigan + Third Eye.

Also, eat meat early on until about the mid 40's.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

If pulling or skilling up, use lower delay bows, not the best damage bows. The best food is pretty much Marinara Pizza from Lv.25 and up, until you meet the Colibri family. (Use sushi if you're doing something like Sidewinder SAM/RNG.) Crab Sushi or Meat Mithkabob when fighting those food stealing birds.

This is utter nonsense for a starting SAM. You're already spending cash to attack, you may as well go all-out especially since ranged will do more damage than your GKT ever will until about the 30's. The difference in delay is negligible but the damage per-shot sure as hell isn't.

Oh, you need to sub RNG btw if you want to fire any ranged weaponskills, and from 20-29 I'd sub RNG anyway for the +10 accuracy bonus (or DRG for 10 attack and Jump). Please check the SAM guides/stickies/wiki for more detailed info.

Not a good argument there.

If you're using it to pull I'm sorry, the difference in damage is negligible. You will fire one shot per mob. That shot will sometimes miss. The difference in damage of that one shot, when it hits, is but a very small fraction of the mob's life.

With the two-hander changes and the inclusion of Marinara Pizza I find it questionable that you could do more damage with a bow, too.

Re: Where are the SAMs?

When I'm pulling, I use the same bow I've always had, Power Bow or something around lv 16, and wooden arrows. I'm just getting it to the group, the tank takes care of it from there. God knows I dont need to blast the thing when I pull it, I have a hard enough time not getting hate as it is.
