Re: In a Pickle (Choosing)
I would go with Jujitsu Gi from 40 until Hauby, if you still have spare cash after you could use what you posted when your able to but macro it in for weaponskills. The acc+4 from Gi is nice at the lower lvs.

Re: In a Pickle (Choosing)
At 50 there's always the Subligar Quest... but that's a whole other hassle and probably more trouble than it's worth unless you plan to do a lot of 50 cap stuff on SAM.

Go with the Gi. Farm, BCNM, do whatever it takes (EXCEPT buying gil!)

Unfortunately that's not really going to cut it the higher up you get. End game melee gear gets ever more expensive the higher up you go. My advice is to suck it up and find a way to make money.

There is always something you can abuse to make money, just got to watch the AH like a hawk, and find out what the need is for.

Re: In a Pickle (Choosing)
Unlike food or ammo, you have a choice to re-sell the Jujitsu Gi when you no longer use it. For example, sell the Jujitsu Gi and fund the hauby.

Re: In a Pickle (Choosing)
Or as I said, if/when you hit 40+, try to do some BCNM 40's for Utsusemi: Ni. It still sells for a few hundred thousand, and there's other drops worth decent gil too. The hard part is finding 5 (2 in some cases) other people to do the fights with you.

Re: In a Pickle (Choosing)
When my SAM was LV 40 the JJ Gi costed around 800K, this is well over a year ago.

So I decided to try with R.S Chainmail -> Brigandine -> Jaridah(just released when I hit 55)

While eating sushi I didn't notice a much lower ACC than any other melee in the PTs

So IMO, the JJ Gi isn't needed to be a good SAM, but its +4 ACC is still better than what both R.S Chainmail and Brigandine offers, you can use it all the way to 55 where you can replace it with a Jaridah(very good for /RNG) or wait till 59 and replace it with a Hauby

One Windurst to conquer the others
One Windurst to find the others
And in mithraness bind them
