What's wrong with this picture?

I swear, is it just me, or has anyone noticed that the price on some of our Katana's are waaaaay overpriced? Everytime I Lv up and can use a new piece of gear, this happens....



The guy selling this must either be...

1. Stupid.
2. Doesn't know how to read the AH history.

It's funny, because the only real reason I want this katana is for the look. That, and I can't stand the delay on the Zanbato. I know I can wait till Lv 67 for the other one that looks identical, but I don't plan on hitting 67 anytime soon, and had some extra cash to spare so I thought what the hell.

What makes this even more moronic, is I've been trying to purchase this for about 4-5 days now. Of course the only one in stock was never sold and sent back to the buyer, so I thought surely his ass would wise up and it would be sold for what it's been at for over 2 months....

Anyways, this is mostly just a rant, but one more directed to the overpricing of all our "Good Gear". Ochiudo's Kote anyone?

lmfao, that has happened to me SO many times.. I sold mine off to a friend for 200k a while back -.- he should hit 67 fairly soon, so i could ask him to sell it to you for the AH price if you'd like ^^

just give me the word here, since I uh.. don't really have a reason to go on FFXI anymore for now w D;

that's how the economy works in RL and in ffxi.

it sucks but that's just the way it is.


if you had the a pair of ochiudo's kote..... and the AH price listing was 320k-360k ..... you purchased them for 340k.

because there are none up for sale... wouldn't it be "wise" to sell a tad bit higher to make some money? say... 400-420k?

if the demand is great... then some "sucker" will purchase them for that high.

Heh. Thanks for this post. Makes me feel better. I dropped 350k for the level 67 Kazaridachi yesterday. I tried to buy it before I went xping but none were available. I bugged the seller of a few of the Kazaridachi, but he said he had none in stocked.

If I had gotten it from him, i'd have to have paid 400k because that's what he sells for in price history. But, because none were available at the time, I managed to save 50k. ^^

I've yet to exp with it tho. It's an upgrade from the lvl 60 Gold Musketeer's Uchigatana.

Actually that doesn't apply here. This guy has been selling his for like 2 weeks. Before, when I didn't have the gil to purchase the katana, there was about 3 in stock. His is the only one that wont sell because he has it marked up too high. 20-30k extra for an item with only one in stock is acceptable, but he's got this at like 37% higher than the original. Not only that, but as you can see from the list, it's never sold for that much. At least not for over 2 months, and thats because it isn't worth that much...

BTW, what do you mean you have no reason to log onto FFXI anymore?

EDIT: Logged back in and there was 2 in stock. GOt it for 245k

things seem a lot cheaper on phoenix than a lot of the prices quoted from other servers

only 1 item up for bid in a a.h will sometimes go higher. but what he is asking for it is ridiculous. he might be hoping someone is that stupid an pays that amount..


i suggest you dont buy it. i fyou do all your ranting to guy will only get you 200k poorer, an him 200k richer.. my 2 cents

Pretty sure Gold Muskateer comes from Bastok CP. Which is probably why it's so cheap. I bought mine from the AH though for about 40k. IMO, you can't beat a weapon with +4 ACC, even if it's dmg is low. I'll be using this thing for quite some time...unless I can magically get my hands on Kamewari

Man. Its 80k - 110k in midgardsormr. But bastok is usually last place, so that's prolly why its inflated.
