Maat is easy, you just enter, medi, third eye, gekko> yuki( induration)> gekko (fragmentation)> gekko (distortion) and he goes down.

Ok here is what I did

Level 70
1.Went in and meditated waited for it to come back up.
2.Used a Blink Band.
3.Used Yellow Curry(This was the key to winning btw it grants a hidden effect Resist:Stun,Shoulder Tackle,HA!Nice try Maat.)
4.Pulled with a bow.
5.Tachi:Yukikaze
6. Used 2HR
7.Tachi:Gekko,then Meditated,Tachi:Yukikaze,Tachi:Gekko,by the time I completed the 3 WS my meditate had charged for a fourth then used Tachi:Yukikaze to finish.
X.This step is listed as a variable cause somewhere in step 7 I managed to 3rd Eye in all that mess.

Notes-Sure enough the Resist:Stun from the yellow curry worked and his shoulder tackle conected but no stun.

Finished with 740 HP left.

And felt justified after 4 previous attempts with him stunning me to break my skillchain.

Pretty much used a blink band, meditated, ran in, WS => 2 hour => WS => WS = Over

Still had a 100 tp left.


Yuki => Gekko => Gekko

Was .. extremely easy.. other than have 18hp left

And the bum Shoulder Tackled and Stunned me for a moment, had me worried.

Yagudo Templars drop rate of sam test is NOT 100%, dunno where this stupid rumour came from. I got mine after 5 kills and the respawn time is 15min.
I suggest you get your test from Castle zvahl bailes instead, unless you and your friends have other business in oztroja aswell.

True Templers are not 100% and i only had one friend come with so i went to zvahl.. So maat pwned me the first time because i forgot what order i did skillchain in. 2nd test i only had a whm to come with and lucky nuff test droped first mob.

Anyways i used full jse for fight. Only for str and non - evas from hauby >.>

I beat maat today (it was my first try ) Anyways, the fight was really easy, but very close. I made sure to prepare well with items (and made sure my gear was up-to-date) I had a WS order, but somehow i forgot it.. ended up winning with 150 hp left though. I used meat chiefkabob, blinkband (was going to use au lait, but forgot to use it xD) the SAM earring that gives +22 attack encantment. I brought along some hi-potions and an icarus wing but i didnt end up needing them

Entered the BC with no gear on (again, this has never been confirmed to help,
but hey, I'll take what I can get! >D ), used Sushi, Blink Band, and Icarus Wing.

Geared up, engaged Maat.

Tachi:Gekko (Maat uses Meikyo) -> Meikyo -> Tachi: Yukikaze (Induration) ->
Meditate -> Tachi: Gekko (Fragmentation) -> Tachi: Gekko (Distortion)

Ended the fight with 100%TP left (from the meditate after Yuki)

Maat's WS: Combo -> Tackle -> Spinning Attack

I did use the Vile elixir after Maats Tackle, but in reviewing the recording, I would
have been alive even w/out using it. I do suggest one regardless.

Btw, I play on XBox 360, so as soon as I get a capture card for my laptop maybe I
can post the vid.

wanted to add something here even if its been a while, a sam in some server went n beat him as a lvl 69 in like 20 sec or it seems like it, but what i can really see he kicked matts ass, well if u wanna see it for your self go to youtube.com n search ffx1 sam/rng and ull see him, hes a monster and i think hes a role moddel of what sam/rng can be.

All the skillchain strats seem they would work perfect, but I have failed twice in a row now and it;s all because his Maat's own weapon skills. Combo for 550? I was half dead before I even did my 2hr. Hell maybe I need to eat a taco. ;p
