Old player thinking of returning. Need Some Help!

Hey guys,

I've been playing FFXI for around 4 years on and off. I love the game but i have no idea why i keep turning away from it after only a few months game play. As far as i remember i have a level 20WHM/20BRD/20BLM, and i was just wondering what is going on with this game?

What has changed over the last and a half? Also what servers are good to go to and what classes are needed lately?

And my final quest is, will FFXI die when FFXIV is released?

Look up Fields of Valor, Level Sync, and Treasure Caskets in FFXIClopedia.

SE will support FFXI as long as people still play it.

lvl 20? you never gave this game a shot in my opinion. To really get a feel for FFXI you needed to get at least one job to 30 and do the rank three mission....which you may have done seeing as bard is unlocked XD

My suggestion is just to play what you like but Bard is a class that people run after and BLM is nice too XD(WHM sorta but there are so many healers nowadays)

Another class people like is Ninja but personally I hate playing it. I can't stand only having like 3-4 shadows and no def(so if you take a hit or wto you're dead)...
