Kind of venting here. I was trying to get back on FFXI since Sunday. That's when I found out about this 3-D secure thing. I use gift credit cards to play and after 2 days of trying to get hold of someone on the chat support, I find out that my card doesn't work. Even though I have used the same type of card around 4-5 months ago. I can't even use this extra 2008 collection key I have because I can't get on Bahamut. x.x Anyone else hating this 3-D secure?

I havent really had any issues with it. I think its only happeneing to people trying to start the game again. Might need a diff card for it as it was what you used before. Its mainly to prevent stolen accounts from being used I think. Havent heard of anything good of it though.

Stop using a prepay card and get areal one.... if you cant, you dont need to be playing MMORPGs right now anyway -.-

You don't know everyone's credit situation, kids under 18 can't get credit cards, and a lot of people have credit problems from when they were younger/college/irresponsible/whatever that is still affecting their credit today. Card companies don't just hand out credit cards.

Just saying that people shouldn't play an MMO because they struggle to find reliable credit is pretty ignorant, especially considering the number of credit card companies that don't support this system. Yeah, the complaining is pretty annoying, but if it isn't this, it's something else.

Yeah, unfortunately I'm unable to use a credit card right now. Which is why I use a gift card. I just found it

strange that my card didn't work again. It's the same exact card, just a different value. I do agree that is a

good thing to have. Like Takelli said, I just haven't seen the good of it yet. It's just that I was really looking

forward to getting back, and this happens.

Yeah, I did before I had to close my bank account (ex husband was stealing money...). There are solutions but they're not totally easy for everyone. I'm just saying that I understand, sometimes things are a bit fucked up for people, a lot of struggling Americans right now, and I don't think that's a reason people should be barred from playing.

I use a Debit card for the game. It works fine, and I neve rhave any issues with paying for the game.

And as for what Akks said. Just because you can't get a card, doesnt mean you should be barred from the game. Some people use the games to "get away from it all". Which is really good if you can't do anything else. Especially if you live where I do.

SE just needs to sell subscription cards in stores already, dammit. It's good enough for EQ and WoW.

I've never seen EQ cards in stores. O.o; Neither have I for WoW. I've seen them being sold for more than what they will cover online though lol.

It works for Gaiaonline as well. Why cant FFXI do it as well instead of loosing hundreds of customers...

I agree. It would be so much easier than gift credit cards even.
