About three years ago I had a FFXI account that I played on my PS2 for about 9 months.
I no longer have a PS2 or even a good PC but I do have an Xbox 360.
What all has changed in the years that I've been gone? I don't think I can wait for FFXIV and I want to know what the "scene" is like now before I buy a brand new game.
I figured you were just the people to ask.

Square-Enix is evil. And their very very smart.

Having seen the FFXIV trailer, I've been browsing all the FFXI forums like crazy, and I do want to come back.

-sigh- I just wish I had the time for it especially starting anew.

heh same here..... curse SE for making stuff

alot, and I mean ALOT has changed, honestly to much to really start listing off with out hurting a finger....

but I guess one of the main things, is that its alot easier to level with a friend and solo some.

1) Level sync allows players to match levels, and still gain EXP and or merit points
2) Fields of valor gives players a chance to solo and still gain a decent amount of EXP
3) Mog satchel, gives you another 80 slots of inventory space to access where ever you are. (have to buy SE security token to get though, $10)

to me these are the three most important things

There is also Campaign, Besiged, MANY new jobs, increased exp from Ep-Dc conned monsters, and much much more

If you really want to know what new... Gotta restart the game, but FFXI should come out LateQ3, early Q4 2010. It isn't that long of a wait.

Well, I decided to take the plunge again. $15 for the game and four expansions was too good a deal to pass up.
My name is Drayvenn and I now reside on the Leviathan server.

Yea. I bought the game, right before the price drop to 15$ when I decided to start up again. 30$ for 08 pack, and then 35$ for the WOTG expansion, then the next two weeks I find out that it drops to 15$ for the Game, AND all expansions. -.-; lol

I know it was a misspell, just messing with ya, and a guy huh? my bad, I go by pics most of the time ;p

Ah. Its Np. My LS leader calls me sis, as he plays a mithra as well, but we are both guys. XD

I just like their stats. lol

I do have a RL pic... But I don't feel like finding it, mainly bc its an old one, and my Camera crapped out when I wanted to update it lol

Thats what creates the problem for me haha.

Still enough time to play some FFXI, but I still feel like somehow it would be a waste to jump into it now.

Unless you plan to write a book or go climb mountains until FFXIV is out, I don't see it being as much of a waste of time. ;] Besides, it would be a good goal to set to clear all the missions before VIX is out -- or something similar.
