| Risky decision advice...
Hey, y'all. I need some advice on something. Last time I played was about 2 years ago. My roommate's girl friend is moving in and we're all going to start playing again when this happens next month. Now, here are my choices. 1) Use the Return to Vana'diel program before April 28th to restore my character, but pay for a full month to include the last two days of April. 2) Wait until May 1st to reactivate my Content ID, hoping my character will still be there after 2 years. Things to consider: 1) Last time I had "quit" and come back, over 3 years had passed since canceling my Content ID and reactivating my account ---> my character was still there. 2) I have never deleted my character for any reason; only canceled my Content ID. I have too much time invested into it. 3) I really want to play but don't have much money. I don't want to have to pay a month for just 2 days of April if I can avoid it. So, should I just risk losing my character and hope its still there on May 1st? |

If you never deleted your character then it will be there when you reactivate your content ID's. The only bonus for the return campaign is the aniversary ring you can get from a moogle which is basically 100% exp bonus, 10 charges. You wont loose your charachter. The other thing is that its easier to level at lower levels and if your a party of 3 then you will do well together in a static and will they be starting from scratch? If so do then do you really need to reactivate a charcter?

Well we were planning on doing a static, although I'm not sure where we'd level with only 3 people. Would the normal leveling spots be off-limits to us or should we just level at those places and recruit an extra 3 every time? They are starting from scratch, but I don't like the idea of getting all the way to rank 5 again to get an airship pass. Besides, I'd end up creating the same blue-haired taru and leveling the same jobs again (WHM and BLM). Instead, I'm just going to level a job I haven't yet, like RDM, which is something I've been needing to do anyway. Thanks for allaying my fears about my character. |

I'd say go for the Return to Vana'diel promo. An extra month's fee to avoid the headache of trying to get your old character back really is worth it. I never deleted my characters when I quit a few years ago, but because there was no Return promo going, I could not restore my characters. Basically, it was either start again from scratch, or wait 6 months for the next promo. So I waited. And you said yourself, you'd probably just lvl the same jobs and same character anyways, so I say avoid going out a few times in a month to balance that $13 monthly fee and take advantage of the promo before it ends. |

Even for full groups, there's more camps in this game than people use anyways.
