I accept the "anal" adjective. On the other hand, you don't have anything against the word and you're not calling your character a "toon" just because of peer pressure. maybe you could try to get that over yourself. I don't like and I'll think less of someone who uses it along with leetspeak (I'm looking right under my username and aware of the irony) and et cetera. And some people will think less of me because my poor english and because I'm from a country with terrible reputation in online games. I'll make my best not to mind them, though. Sometimes I won't be able but It's not like I'm giving up the game because that are some people that have something against me. Prejudice is inherent to our society, we could change that but we are all a little assholes sometimes.
So call them toons, some people won't like it, don't give a damn, keep calling them toons, borrow the Tickmeoff's bowl and give them.
