Missing FFXI too much. And some questions...

This will be my 2nd time returning. Last time, I had all my info written out, but could not use my old PlayOnline ID, for some odd reason... So I obviously couldn't get my character back. This time, I'm going to try both old IDs again, but I have a question.

IF one of them works, is there a chance my character will just be there? Or do I have to go through the long process of trying to get it recovered?

Actually, I think what may have happened... Was that when I returned, I had also bought the expansion pack and used a new serial, so my PlayOnline ID wasn't matched or something, and therefore couldn't use my old character. I'm not POSITIVE that's what happened, but I guess that would make sense. There's probably no chance of getting my first character back, since I lost the info I had a long time ago... And unless my other character is still around (I didn't keep any of the info that time, because last time, I couldn't get it recovered, anyway >.>)... I'll have to start over.

So back to my point, I guess. Is it likely my character will still be there? If not, what's a good, active server to start out on? :/

Patching PlayOnline Viewer right now... Haven't even installed the game yet. Takes so long! And sorry for the unnecessarily long post.

Did you delete your character the first time? If the answer is "no," it should still be there.

If you did delete the character (as opposed to merely deleting the Content ID) then it may or may not be recoverable.

I cancelled content IDs both times, but the first time I tried to return, my PlayOnline ID just failed to exist. I still haven't really figured that out.

Thanks for your reply, though. I hope you're right.

EDIT: Okay, DVD drive seems to be broken, can't install expansions. Sigh.

Okay, after a few obstacles, I'm back in game, ready to face many more. I'm on Garuda, my Linkshells have all disappeared, and it seems very, um... quiet. I'm also very scared of jumping right into everything, as I can't remember how to play, so I'm fishing for Lu Shang quest, I guess.

I'm not sure how attached you are to Garuda, but if you aren't happy you can change servers if you have friends elsewhere.

My ID wont let me log on, even tho the details are right >< So I'm starting a new account (2008 collection is in the mail, i can start soon~!), and I'll probably head back to Asura, my home I was at before

I don't really have many friends left either. Just a few, who I think still play :D

I know i can't post links yet, cause of my posts arn't high enough, but that page was in another thread just down a bit (linked onto it from the aussie guy's thread).

It shows you how many transactions are on each server through the ah each day, and how many characters

And when you make a new char, you dont have to have world passes anymore too! When you start a char, just pick the server you wish to play on

(Also, you can search for chars on the servers, if you wanna see if your old friends still play and use the Auction House)

Aloha Mandy,

If you have no friends it doesn't really matter where you are really. If you have anyone that you could play with or help you out with gil/PL every now and again on your current server, you should just stay there.
I recently came back in April, had 1 RL friend who helped me out alot. If you need a new home, I'm part of a GREAT social LS on Cerberus... can help you out if you like.
