Old player coming back
Hey guys, ive been away from FFXI for years, played WOW and am pretty burnt out on it.
I was looking at coming back to FFXI and i was wondering if the UI has changed at all?
One of my biggest problems with the game was the UI and its limited options.
So has it changed at all the the past 3+ year?

The only real change to the interface has been the addition of macro books, and the /macro command.

You have 20 books of macros now, with 10 sets in each book (i.e. 20 times the number of macros you used to have). You can switch from one book to another with /macro book 1 ... /macro book 20 and from one set to another with /macro set 1 ... /macro set 10.

I think the game's UI is pretty much the same with minor tweaks. It would be easier to understand if you told us what issues you had. Battle system? Crafting system? Claim system?
