Can SE bring back really old deleted characters? - Final Fantasy XI :: Dreams in Vana'diel :: Community

Like actually deleted him from the character selection screen. Can they do that?

If you personally deleted them... probably not. I've never heard of anyone who was able to recover a character that was deleted in this way. Ditto for anyone who has deleted their PlayOnline ID.

I had a friend not pay his bill over 2 years ago and recently come back with all his gear and original char. It was deleted by se and got it back. so i think you can. not 100% though

If you delete your character from the selection screen they can not recover it. If you cancel your content ID and not Delete your character they can recover and reactivate your character and ID.

I thought they can get it back using the Return to Vana D'iel events. I mean, why else would they have events promoting how you can come back to the game if you're character was just left alone anyway?

They can if you dont delete your critter, if you just stop your payments SE will inactivate your account. I recently activated an account that was 4 years old with the Return to Vana D'iel event - his inbox/outbox were gone (which sucks... all of my money was there)

but all of my characters were alive and well because I did not delete them, just put them on stand by so to speak. I called SE to see if my character would be there if I reactivated my ID and it wasnt avaliable until they went searching for it in the database using the Return event. And I'm still not certain how that all works, but he's back!! And all he does is farm.....
