Considering returning again
... but would like to try before I buy. I did not do what everyone else did and move to WoW, but instead to EQ2, where I'm generally happy. I just sort of miss FFXI sometimes, since it was my first MMORPG.

Does anyone have any of those magic numbers I can use to give it a whirl? I still have the first two expansions I believe, but never got much further than that. I'm interested in a casual linkshell as well, nothing deep and demanding and someone friendly to returning players.

Thanks!

Re: Considering returning again
I'm not sure what magic numbers you're referring to. FFXI has never had a free trial, though it does have a very inexpensive trial.

Re: Considering returning again
There was an "invite a buddy" thing at one point, do they still do this?

Oh yes. The buddy pass. Sorry for forgetting about that. They do, but most people have long since used up their passes. We have a giant megathread here full of unfulfilled requests.

Re: Considering returning again
I have Xbox360 version...what is this pass? I have never invited anyone to play and didn't know I could.

Re: Considering returning again
Can anyone confirm if the 360 version has a buddy pass? I know you need the disks in your 360 to actually play, so maybe they didn't include one with those?

If they did, it would be in with any of the other slips of paper that came in the box.

Re: Considering returning again
Hmmm....I don't recall anything but the map (which I have folded and unfolded so many times it is unrecognizable) and the booklet that has the registration code that can only be used once.

I will look for buddy pass info when I get home.

Re: Considering returning again
I dont think they did murph i dont remember it being included with my xbox edition (but i did it a while ago). Also not included in the PS2 set either. I think it was a special promotion with the Vanadiel 07 collection for the PC only if i remember correctly. (Since outside the ps2 which didnt get the collection, is the only interchangable software). If your interested in comming back the only way i can see you getting your free trial is buying the game and getting the first 30 days "Free". Otherwise its probably best just to start up your old charecter, and account Downloading the files and getting the Keys of SE website.
