Considering coming back. Server and LS questions

I know that alot of whats the best server threads exist but my situation is a little different.

I quit ffxi for good over a year ago and had played off and on on the lakshmi server with a group of Import players from before the NA release of the game. After the NA release i was in the game for another six months or so and left. By the time I came back most of the people i used to play with were gone or MIA and after a few more months I quit again.

The big question here is I am looking for someone in a big friendly LS to take me under there wing again and help me get back in the game. The biggest reasons I left the second time was that whatever LS I got in people didnt give a rip about making friends and helping eachother out. The atmosphere from back in the import days up to then had completely changed.

Anyone who wants to help an old vet and born again n00b back into the world of ffxi let me know.

Until then I guess im going to hold out on restarting my account.

Well, people are going to roll in here and tell you every server is the same. Its not true since some servers are a little different than others. The more populated the server, the more selective people from other regions are because they have the luxury to do it, especially the japanese players. On other servers, typically lower population ones, people can't be so choosy. Some servers also lean heavier to certain jobs and EXP camps than others, the more populated ones have a tendancy to spread out into the zones, the smaller servers have a tendancy to be stubborn and won't camp anywhere but the most popular spots, even if those areas are filled to the brim with players.

A fair amount of people on this forum have gone to Kujata, people from the Limit Break Radio forums sometimes make thier way to Odin. Both have some fairly friendly people there and, to my knowledge, would have people willing to let you into thier linkshells. If you're interested in coming to Odin, I'm willing to float you a pearl as I'm sure people from other servers here would also willing to do.
