Hiya forums goers,

I quit FFXI a year ago to cope with exams and all, those who take the IB have a good idea of what I'm talking about and would like to come back after the exams are over though I have a few questions.

1) Since my character hasn't been touched for over a year will she still be there?
2) Are there such things as server transfers now since I see we can choose servers now.
3) Has gil been revalued a lot since a year ago?

1. If it's been over a year, probably not. You'd have to wait for a "Return to Vana'diel" promotion.
2. SquareEnix has said server transfers are in the works. They're not implemented yet.
3. I'd say gil is much more valuable than it was one year ago.

Wait so by saying gil is much more valuable do you mean the currency has strengthened implying there is less money in the economy now?

Or is it prices have generally risen?

There has been a deflation; Gil is worth more goods--goods are worth less Gil. Check ffxiah.com for a few high (or low) priced items you can recall the prices of; you just may be surprised. (Ignore the Gil for sale advertisement. -_-; )

Things costs less now (overall), but Gil is also harder to come by (overall).

BTW, S-E has basically declared war on RMT, and was last seen slaughtering their fish bots with hyper-speed Goblins--which was introduced shortly after they took away a few billion of RMT's Gil and banned thousands of their accounts.

So wait they declare war with goblins on the fish bots? ... Whats this about? The GMs see someone botting so they send a goblin their way?

Nah, it's a waste of GM's time to investigate everyone fishing. In a way you can call these Goblin Bounty Hunters S-E's own bots, which aggro to low level fishermen at places where they shouldn't be. See the link for details.

So they aggro anyone on the sands of a beach? that leaves out secret beach parties in the dunes and qufim worm parties.

Edit:

Move much faster than normal mobs (+25% movement), in pairs, with patrols closely following the outline of the coast. Otherwise, these mobs are roughly the same strength as mobs in their vicinity.

I haven't been there lately, but others have said you can still exp, just not too close to the waters.

Ooops .. would've thought that they were higher level than most things in the area, guess I was wrong. More goblins to fight now .

I read up as well that rare items such as O.kote and the like are now rare/ex items and that you have to hand in an item to someplace to spawn the mob? Does this apply to all of the old money making NM drops: O.kote, LL boots, Emp. hairpin, etc? and are these 'items' hard to come by?

BTW, Ochiudo's Kote was hardly a great Gil drop on my server; I've only seen bot'ers get the NM. Maybe now I'll have a chance at Ochimusha's Kote since that Mee Deggi doesn't drop anything much profitable in AH anymore.
