Re: Please help me reactive my JP account
Sorry to tell you, but I lost my Japanese account the same way. I had an account long before the NA release and had a TON of time invested in that account.

I called the Japanese POL support center and wanted to reactivate my account, but I could only speak a minimal amount of Japanese. The guy I was speaking to in support asked me in Japanese to try calling back with a friend who speaks Japanese.

So, determined to save my account, I went so far as to contact a friend who was friends with a Japanese translator. The translator who represented me told me that in Japan they treat accounts in a similar fashion to a past due utility bill. They send a written notice for payment of the account by snail mail to the address you registered. You must take that notice and pay in person IN JAPAN.

I offered to pay the balance due on my account for reinstatement plus any applicable penalties, but they informed me that they are unable to process a payment to the account at POL support for an account past due like that. They could resend a notice to the mailing address, but it wouldn't do any good because I had to register a Japanese address that was not my own to setup the account since they wouldn't allow us to use our actual US mailing address for account creation.

So, to make the long story short, we are screwed. The mistake I made was NOT translating the message indicating that my billing card didn't go through because the card was expired. I forgot to update it after not playing for a couple months, and then my account was screwed.

If you have a Japanese account, grab your ankles if the billing card expired because the support center wont help you. You have to settle the matter in person, in Japan. It sounds ridiculous that you can't just pay over the phone. If all they want is to settle the account, it sounds crazy that you can't convince them to take your money over the phone. What happens if you moved from Japan to the US ??? You'd be screwed too if your billing card lapsed.

The whole deal to create an import account was a sucker's bet.

Re: Please help me reactive my JP account
In short, whenever you acquire an import account for any future online game, it's pretty much caveat empor (Buyer Beware) and you're on your own.

1) You cannot hold the company responsible (They may have added a disclaimer in their home langauage for which you obviously will not be able to pickup unless you read the contract)

2) The company is not liable for any lack of support that you encounter with them. This is because if you're a foreigner with no claim or ownership to residence there, you have no rights in that country at all. Therefore, you are at their mercy for whatever reason may arise out of a situation similar to this.

Bottom line...

1) Always remember to keep your billing records up-to-date. If you're the kind of person that have a hard time taking care of your own domestic bills and responsibilities irl, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BOTHER WITH IMPORT ACCOUNTS.

2) If you don't know an ounce of the language, then you shouldn't bother to import the game. NO ONE is obligated to help you and NO ONE should be asked of this. The excuse that you wanted to play the game because you thought they would never localize it is getting a bit harder to empathize with since the decision made was personal. You can live a perfectly normal life without ever importing the game at all.
