Error Found
Playonline, or FFXI's website doesn't say that there's anything wrong with the registration servers right now. I wanted to come back to FFXI today, after my little over a month break, and for some reason it's not working! If there was something wrong, it's usually on the maintainence log, but it's like there shouldn't be a problem.

I go to reactive my ID, type in my username and password. It brings up my list of IDs available to be reactivated, no matter which one I pick, it just takes me to a screen that says "Error Found" at the top, and "There was a system error found, please try again in a few minutes" and naturally, few minutes translates to few hours cause this has been going on all day. I was hoping to get in some hours of gameplay today, and the day's almost over!

He said he'd been doing it all day. He could have called earlier and had no luck.

Re: Error Found
no clue, but it could be due to increased traffic because of the return to vanadiel campaign

Re: Error Found
Well ok, now here's a story to tell. During the xbox 360 beta, I stupidly applied for beta codes, and used my currently existing FFXI account to create a beta character, instead of using a whole new account like pretty much everyone else. Doing this I think led to a chain of events. lol

Fortunately, the good news, my characters are fine, I got em activated again today. I called support this morning, but I'm convinced they know less about FFXI than we do. He kept telling me to make sure I wasn't using third party programs, or to try reinstalling my POL viewer, even though I told him I tried it on PS2 AND PC version.

I think because I used the account during the xbox 360 beta though, led to a chain of events in the servers, that led them to think I was a former beta player, and was possibly going to be returning for the retail version. THUS, the server has been treating my account like a brand new account. This is just my belief, but the reason the error was coming up is because, if the server believed my account was new, it wouldn't make any sense to be reactivating content IDs, if I hadn't bought any yet.

What happened is, I was seeing what I could and could not do. So I clicked on purchase a brand new content ID, to see what would happen. This is where I knew my account was being perceived as a brand new account, because when I tried to buy a new ID, it was offering me another first free month. Saying I would be charged $0.00 til the 6th of may, 2006. So I purchased one, then I went back into the reactivate section, and FINALLY it let me reactivate both of my previous characters. Both being charged for $0.00 lol After that, I just canceled the new ID I had just bought, and I had my 2 characters back.

So basically, cause I was stupid enough to enter the beta with my current account, I managed to get a free month out of the deal. lol Stupidity it seems has paid off in this case.
