Connecting Vertically
I have a question about the usage of our level 40 Job Ability, Convert. From what I read, it seems that its most common use is to use one's otherwise untouched HP bar and use it to restore their MP, and logic and study would agree that this would ultimately be the most prudent usage of the Ability.

But, my question is, when would it be deemed appropriate for a so-called "backwards" use, transferring MP to HP?

Re: Connecting Vertically
Ahhhh, Ghetto Convert. Haven't heard people talk about this in far too many months.

My first experience with it was when a taru that was too lazy to sneak through Ro'Maeve put on stoneskin, ran through the entire zone, and converted when he was almost dead. Of course I died because I was too awestruck looking at his train, but still freakin' awesome.

Really, the only time it's appropriate is when you're tanking and something goes very very wrong, or you're using it to survive something like a train.

You should never need to ghetto convert in an EXP PT.

Re: Connecting Vertically
I agree, there aren't too many good reasons to do this but it is awesome fun. There were several times as a lvl 40ish noob rdm subbed whm that I'd forget to bring a warp scroll. So I had to find my way out of places and as a nub and well on occasion I'd get aggro. I accidentally came across the ghetto convert when I was trying to bind a mob so I wouldn't die, I hit convert instead. Made it to the zone and laughed like nuts.

Some people are like Slinkys , totally useless but they still put a smile on your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Saved my ass 1-2 times in Dynamis when I've been sleep-happy with demons. Had a good laugh then the Cure Vs that came to me a few seconds later healed for not too much.

Emmm, peachy

Re: Connecting Vertically
Haha, I've used it to sustain higher Souleater damage before as well, but I wouldn't really recommend that unless you're just playing around. It's pretty much just an emergency move when you need HP nowish and can't stop to cast Cure IV.

That Souleater thing has to be the most novel use for it I've ever heard.

Well, thanks to all for answering my question.
