After more than three years and hundreds of bees... I have a superfast dagger! I know it might not be a big deal to a lot of people, but for me, this is huge. Finally, I can replace my Royal Guard's Fleuret.


Thanks to Omni for helping me farm for about an hour and a half tonight. Time to skill up!

For elemental farming, I believe it will be.

And of course for the massive skill-up I need to do since my Daggers is only at 60.

I will be keeping my RGF around, in reality! Like most things in this game, specific gear for specific purposes.

Every time I whip out my Fencer's Ring, someone cures me. I've really only been able to use it solo.

Without Fencer's:
Hornetneedle w/ Enspell: (16+17)/150 *60= 13.2DPS
Misericorde w/ Enspell: (27+17)/183 *60= 14.4DPS

With Fencer's:
Hornetneedle w/ Enspell: (16+17+5)/150 *60= 15.2DPS
Misericorde w/ Enspell: (27+17+5)/183 *60= 16.1DPS

With Hollow Earring too:
Hornetneedle w/ Enspell: (16+17+5+3)/150 *60= 16.4DPS
Misericorde w/ Enspell: (27+17+5+3)/183 *60= 17.0DPS

Misericorde always beats the needle. I love needle for skillup and capped stuff though.

To make Hornetneedle viable, you have to boost Enspell damage very high:

(16+17+5+3+x)/150 = (27+17+5+3+x)/183

(41 + x)/150 = (52 + x)/183

41/150 + x/150 = 52/183 + x/183
x/150 - x/183 = 52/183 + 42/150 {*150}
x - 150x/183 = 52*150/183 + 42 {*183}
183x - 150x = 52*150 + 42*183
33x = 7800 + 7686
33x = 15486
x = 15486/33

x = 469

Hmmm...Either my math is wrong (Check it!) or it's virtually impossible for Hornetneedle to be better than Misericorde.

Actually, if you check the thread I linked, Grendal did that test in-game!

Misericorde is indeed better.

But then again, it's level 71 and Hornetneedle is level 49, so it ought to be better.

And, that said, I'm level 66, so I won't be able to use a Misericorde for a while yet.

As for the Fencer's Ring, my intent is to use it solo to speed up Elemental (and other types of) farming. I would personally let myself get below 75% health, then Phalanx/SS to avoid taking more damage as opposed to healing up.

Being able to tear through Ice Elementals specifically is important because of how they have a limited time spawn during weather.
