King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Yay or Nay?

I mean this is just speculation, but hopefully during the weekend I'll find out sooner or later.

I'm camping right now, and I log in periodically to check the camp, and I keep good contact with the other campers in the area just to be a fair sport. (I really just want that god damned ToD...)

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Difficult to do before rage timer, but maybe.

Edit: after seeing it has 15k hp, very difficult to get the damage before rage timer.

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Well I posted this at 9:00am, and it's 1030 now, and I see that the Knight Crabs were killed while I was AFK.

Protect wore, and I cast it maybe 5mins before I logged off, although I was online for about 10 mins before I went AFK, so it's feasible that he died after 930 AM, but before 1020.

In any case, I'll try to be online tomorrow starting at 6am, so that I can get a precise ToD.

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Doubt it.

Without timer, then easy NP.

But a decently geared PLD/NIN and THF/NIN took him on duo, and they had real problems killing before the rage timer, and in the end had help from a couple RDM's to finish it off before it Raged.

Considering the THF would of been SA'ing every chance he had, the damage output would far exceed that of what a RDM could do alone.

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Not possible to do it within the rage timer. RDM just doesn't deal damage fast enough. You need some outside help for sure.

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
He's a bit weaker than Aquarius, but a crapload more HP. I'm not sure about Bind/Gravity, being as it's entirely possible that he'd eventually start resisting, but what about nuking?

15000/500 = 30 Nukes.

That seems "feasible", and by that I mean, "more reasonable than melee soloing him".
------------------------------------------
Blizzard is 120
Thunder is 128

It might be more possible for me to duo him down to 75% health, then start alternating with Thunder III and Blizzard III.

With Full MP and a Convert, that is possible. And that's assuming I don't do over 500 damage a nuke.
------------------------------------------
ON A SIDE NOTE, THE MANSUR EPEE COMPLETELY OWNS MY JOYEUSE IN TERMS OF DAMAGE.

I think I finally have a reason to Dual-Wield now.

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Yeah. So I'm pretty much going to need at least 2 other people if I want to nuke it, or 2 other people if I want to melee it.

Bleh.

I'm just gonna play around with this Sword some more. Just did a 781 Savage blade on a TW, breaking my previous record of 500. I'm so happy!

I'd try it once anyway.

BTW, apparently a NIN has soloed him so you may only need one other person.

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Using 2hours you and a mnk can easily duo it. Or a Kraken/Ridill Drk if you happen to know one somewhere.

I usually 3 man KA in the wee hours of the morning, and almost any setup will work for that.

I can't really think of a job that could solo KA in time. Drk would be close, but would need haste/march to pull it off I think.

Galka Dark Knight with some accuracy gears and a Kraken Club might be able to do it using Souleater + Blood Weapon as a finisher, but even that would be iffy. 15000 HP is a lot of damage to try to deal out in such a short time frame.

I've also heard of acccounts of nin soloing KA. Granted, with lots of hi-pots at your disposal.

Icemage
I know the Kraken Drks our LS has can do about 23k damage in thier 2hr. But thats 6 soul voiced songs, haste, and someone curebombing them if needed.

Not sure how much that would decrease without songs. Can use a haste belt for haste though.

How much can a rdm, assuming no resist, do in thier 2 hour? Might be close, if you stuck to one spell and didn't swap staves you're getting 2tp a spell. So might be close to a 100 TP after chainspell and convert to pop out a TP move.

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Mensur Epee only has 47 DMG during normal melee hits (not during WS), so I'm guessing that most of your increased weapon skill damage is from getting 3 hit Savage Blades while dual wielding rather than 2 hit Savage Blades when single wielding Joyeuse. However, the DoT of Mensur Epee is very high, so I see why it makes dual wielding worth it.

Re: King Artho vs. RDM/NIN
Possibly. I added the Taru RSE boots and the Warwolf belt into my macro, so maybe.
