I have Warlock's Tabard +1, so I can actually add another 10 more mp in there, giving me the perfect vert ratio.

And yes, I have endgame gear, but I'm an elf, so... I needs!

Not much end-gamy about my RDM gear since it's not my primary job, but here's my current convert setup on RDM. I can squeeze another 20MP if I'm in a Conquest-active zone not controlled by my home city (i.e. Dynamis, Al'taieu, Limbus, etc.) due to the Republic Gold Medal.

There's a LOT of gears I could upgrade to make this better. Loquacious/Magnetic Earrings, something like Crimson at the body/leg piece. Assuming I could find one, a Kinnara Pole from Assault + Staff Strap would add a ton to my Convert efficiency too. Intensifying Cape would be nifty as well.

Nice, so it could be possible for a taru to hit 1200+ish mp for Convert with the right gear.

What I really like about this is that the difference between a well equiped Taru and a well equiped hume isn't as much as I thought it would be.


If only macros allowed me to swap all the MP gear on with a single macro.

As /BLM I'm close. 1114 HP to 998 MP (8/8 MP Merits, no food, Elvaan). Still a number of MP items I would like to get my hands on though. Elvaan RSE 2 gloves, Faerie Hairpin, and Hedgehog Bomb would give me another 86MP, toss in the 80MP from Glace and I got it done. Only thing I have that's remotely end game would be Dls. Gloves +1, but the only thing helpful there would be the INT+5, and not the MP. I'd love Zenith Mitts for nuking, and the mitts plus the crown for Convert.

My LS knows I'm MP hungry. There's a Hume RDM in my LS who kinda oggles my MP since I have nearly 300 more MP than she does. lol

The main reason to switch in MP gear just for Convert and then switch back to your normal gear is that you can cure yourself to full, then switch back to your potency gear and not really have lost a lot of MP in the exchange.

Stacking MP gear as RDM isn't really ideal if you're doing anything other than main healing or possibly ChainStunning, but it's nice to carry some MP pieces on you for Convert.

Actually I know about it and why I should do it but I swap in one MP piece for my converts and that seems to be good enough for me.

I have about 596/594 right now on my taru. He's level 50 and its been keeping pretty steady HP and MP wise. I hope that trend continues. :D

It will continue to keep pace, yes. Actually I find I have to be extremely careful with gear on my Taru on those rare occasions when I use /BLM because I'll end up with more MP than HP...

By the by, I'm closing in on 1200MP convert ratio on my 75 RDM. Desperately need a +MP body piece like Warlock+1 or Crimson, though. I'll see if I can grab a screenshot tonight and post it.

Tell me about it.. I have my macros tailor made to WHM sub, and it works out nicely, but if I'm subbing BLM, my ratios are skewed slightly.

Also, I REALLY hate when RDMs Divine Seal and Cure 4 after a Convert.

That's a waste of a JA and a waste of 88MP. After I convert, I Cure 3 and Regen, and I keep Regening. By the time Convert is back up, I'm at full health, or if the WHM has MP, they'll cure me.

Idk, it just pisses me off as a waste, and I don't know who spread the idea where it was a good combination. That Divine Seal is better suited for tacking on to a curaga II in case something looks really bad..

Maybe I'm ranting, but DS+CureIV after a Convert seems really selfish.

Since I don't sub WHM ... ever ... I don't bother with Divine Seal. One Cure IV is fine and usually the WHM will Regen III me up to full.

Drain is also wonderful after convert, and how else do you think I capped my Dark Magic skill?

I can see where it could seem that way. I suppose it just depends on the individual party. I mean, if I'm going to be called on to do things where I might pull hate a lot in a party (like sleep adds, or whatever), getting myself back up to full asap is what's most important. But if it's like a meripo, where I have all the time in the world to get my HP back, then it makes less sense to worry about that.

Plus, if I have convert merits, DS isn't going to be ready every time anyway.

I don't even remember what it's like to sub BLM.

I am still refusing to sub WHM in xp and go without a WHM present. I either duo merits with my BLM friend, I get a full traditional XP party with a WHM and an actual tank and maybe even a skillchain, or I don't merit. Simple as that.
