I soloed this barely not too long ago for a friend(He was with me, but he was level 20 with WAR/MNK so he couldnt do much >_>; .... Here was my setup that worked pretty well;

RDM/WAR

From subbing warrior I also got:

Defense bonus (+10 def)
Berserk (+25% attack for 3 minutes, cooldown: 5 minutes)
Double attack (kicked in around 10 to 20% of the time)

Yea, my setup wasnt geared completely toward damage dealing, but it was my over-all-good-set I hang onto for when I need to RDM50 cap gear. Serves me very well...

In my opinion; Surviving in 5-1 is about more than just attack STR and speed. You want a good balance of almost all stats because you are going to be attacked and have spells casted on you for almost 15 minutes(if you cut it close like me) Sooo HP, MP, VIT, AGI, MND and INT all have a place in that fight...

I wasnt at my house when I did that fight so I couldnt record it >_< BUT I still have a video of when I first did 5-1 with 3 other people (2 other RDM(1 was gimpy, 1 was in decent gear) and a WHM with gear I never checked out ) eitherway, I was hitting quite abit harder than the other 2 Redmages.... And I was using meat kabobs at the time...
