RDM is not born to be a main healer, nor do I want to be. Unless we have LV37+ NIN tank, we cannot fully concentrate on our primary job.

Gosh I can't wait to get back up into my upper 20s. When I was a RDM, I think those were the hardest levels in the 20-30 range. Hard to get whms in qufim. Everyone tries to make RDM main healer. I experienced the "Please dont make me main healer" angst myself and left alot of parties. RDM has entirely too much to do, and too many stats to keep capped(Enfeeble rings a big bell), to play main healer.

RDM come to my pt, rdm no worry about healing.^^ I take guesses when an RDM tells me not to use Dia, or use no enfeebles. They are probably away from thier caps, and need to get as many in as possible.

As for Chain 11. I cannot believe you, I'm sorry. To say you achieved this in Kazham, makes me believe it's a lie. Perhaps your pt killed 11 mandies in a row. But chain 11 is not possible in Kazham. I dont know if chain 11 is possible period, or even at higher levels. But I do know for a fact IN Yhoator and Yuhtunga, it is'nt possible. Too much competition. Mandies also are sleep whores. Ding ding.

Funny you should say this I had a party in onzozo fighting toramas one time where I was the only mage(sub whm of course). We DID however have a bard, 2 rangers, and a great drg and pld. Got nearly 5k exp an hour

I LOVE red mages.

As a WHM/BRD, a good Red Mage is my favorite backup partner, and have been told that WHM/BRD is the favored complement for most Red Mages at level 50+ as well.

Case in point: Chaining Tormentors in the Den of Rancor last night. PT setup:

PLD/WAR 69
RNG/NIN 69
BLM/WHM 68
MNK/WAR 69
RDM/BLM 69
WHM/BRD 68 (me)

I have 813 max MP with equip, using a Dark Staff and eating Hobgoblin Chocolate (+15 total extra MP recovered per resting tick). After chain 4 at one point, I had 720 MP remaining.

Downtime? What's that?

In the dunes in set LS parties for sub leveling or trying new jobs, i've seen chain6 a few times, it requires 2 pulls at once on the chain5 mob and lots of WSs on the second one.

I was drunk when i first posted, and I know we didn't get to chain 11 The rest of the posts were an attempt for people not to notice how incredibly dumb the first post was, but now that i've been pwned by everyone, i'll go sit in the corner

It is very easy to be main healer against mandys though, and at the time my job is very simple, consisting of me casting Dia, Paralyze, Blind, Slow and Gravity, followed by curing a bit and nuking. Once i get dispel at 32 it'll be a bit more interesting, then at 41 when i balance refresh with the rest, it should become very interesting.

WHM's rock, I would be dead on many occaisions without them, but lately I've seen many WHMs who feel the vanad'iel revolves around them, and it gets very annoying when you have more than one party in a day with the WHM leaving for reasons such as "If you won't leave so my friend can join, i'm leaving!":dead:

Hehe, Chain 6 in Korroloka Tunnel last night. Seen it three times. Last night with RDM, once solo with BST against Hellmines, and once in Yhoatar with WHM.(Someone had a healing bot working for the party, I was pretty useless lol)

Only reason I mention last night..

Chain 5 for 280 exp!
Chain 6 for 63 exp!....What?

Pretty funny but like people said you have 30-40 seconds for chain 6, I guess thats why we got it. Very easy mob lol

I think I remember seeing people get high chains by having a high level friend use -ga spells on a lot of mobs until they were all at about no heal at all, then the friend would kill em off with a -ga spell or SMN 2hr. I saw a pic it was like a lv.5 BLM killing orcs or something and getting chain 8s.

Interesting I should stumble along to this post.... I just got out of a party in crawler's nest... setup was

DRG/WAR
PLD/WAR
DRK/THF
DRK/WAR
SAM/WAR
RDM/BLM

and yes... I was the redmage... -_-;

BUT... when I first saw the party after invite me i was like 'wtf is this... 1 mage?'... but I hadn't had an invite in like 2 hours SO... i went with the party.

Funny I should stay...we were chaining 100-140 exps up to chain 4 is the highest we got I think....constantly... I have no idea how we did it, because the pld was an idiot... but that's the most uber RDMing I've ever done in my entire life....

I got SOOO many /cheers and /hurrays from the party at the end of the night (now), and they all added me to /flist because they thought I did such a wicked job. Only one person died, once, and it was the PLD, because our idiot DRG pulled a scorpion... which we had like 30 ppl struggle to kill.

Anyways... the fact here is... since I had only 2 ppl to refresh (I said screw the DRK if im main healing), and was main healer, and only used slight debuffs like dia, slow, gravity.... RDM's CAN do a wicked job at keeping parties alive.... and I thought this was relevant to the thread topic so... there ya go. That's my 2 gil.
